With the Christmas and New Year holidays, comes the time for holiday parties. There are office parties at the workplace, dinner parties at friends’ houses and parties for local organizations. You’ve got your invitations and you think you’re all set to go. But, wait…what do you wear? This guide will show you what to wear that’s appropriate at all these holiday parties.
A Friend’s Dinner Party
This party is where the host opens her home to her friends, have dinner, mix and mingle and maybe even exchange presents. You want to dress up but be casual too. It’s all about being with friends and having fun so you want your outfit to be fun and interesting.

For Outfit 1, you’ll wear a deep red sweater, leather leggings, statement necklace, Kate Spade black clutch, black heeled booties and Essie red nail polish.
The leather leggings and sweater look dressy, but fun at the same time. The black heeled booties and clutch dress up the outfit. The necklace should be one that the name says…makes a statement. Ideally, the necklace should be either black or a darker gold so that it goes well with the clutch and shoes. The red nail polish adds a festive flair to the outfit.

Outfit #2 consists of a black embellished neck sweater, dark wash skinny jeans,diamond stud earrings, silver pave bar necklace, silver glitter clutch and black pumps.
Black is a classic color to wear to parties. Instead of wearing a plain black sweater, make it more interesting by wearing one with embellishments. This certainly will make it look like the holidays. Because your sweater will be the statement piece, you’ll want to wear a delicate necklace to not interfere with the sweater. This gives more of a balanced look. Wearing jeans to a casual holiday party is permissible, especially when you dress them up with a heeled shoe! The silver glittered clutch will match your necklace and earrings.
