Loft Dressing Room Reviews

Loft is having a 40% Off Sale!  I saw where they were having this sale when I was doing some Christmas shopping this weekend, so I had to go in and see what they had!  I thought I would go in and scout out a few pieces that would fit in a capsule wardrobe.  Plus, they also had several pieces for your holiday outfits!  I tried on a couple of those, in case you needed to know how they fit.

I love all the clothes at Loft!  The style of their clothes are both classic and trendy, which is great if you have a capsule wardrobe!  I wasn’t shopping for anything in particular today, but I did leave the store with 3 pieces for my Winter capsule wardrobe.  I bought this Striped Cowl Neck Tunic Top, which will be perfect with jeans and leggings.  I also bought this pair of Teal Double Frayed Skinny Jeans, which fit perfectly and I love the teal shade for Winter.  Plus, with being teal, they can transition into Spring.  This Pocket Sweater Vest also came home with me!  I was wanting the sweater vest last year, but didn’t like the belt on that one, so I was glad to see they omitted the belt on this season’s style.

When I was in Loft, I saw that they brought back the Cowl Neck Tunic Sweater and the Pointelle Sweater (with added details on the sleeves) again this year.  I have them both and will be adding them to my Winter capsule wardrobe.   I absolutely loved wearing the Cowl Neck Tunic Sweater last Winter.  They have it in 6 colors this year, mine being the “crumb melange” color.  The material is SO soft and comfy and I wore mine with jeans and leggings.  The Pointelle Sweater is so warm and the “muted mocha melange” color that I have is a beautiful shade of tan.  It comes in 4 colors and I especially love the “bright pink melange” color!

Here’s what I tried on in the dressing room:

Plaid Ruffle Split Neck Blouse (wearing size Medium) / PLUS-SIZE

additional items I’m wearing:
Florence Instasculpt Skinny Jeans
Minnie Travel Ballet Flats

First up is the Plaid Ruffle Split Neck Blouse.  The pattern on this top caught my eye.  It is a small windowpane pattern and since it is black and white, it will coordinate with so many other clothes in your closet!  The ruffle trim neckline is simple enough that it doesn’t get in the way if you wanted to wear a layer, like a vest, jacket or blazer, with it.  It has pretty double ruffle end sleeves for a feminine look.  It is slightly see-through, but you can wear a nude color bra with it.  It looks good left untucked for a casual look or you can wear it tucked in a skirt or pants for a more dressy style.  Verdict: I didn’t buy it, but am kind of regretting not buying it now!

I tried on the Pocket Sweater Vest and loved it!  It is similar to the sweater vest last year, but without the belt tie.  I like this year’s style much better.  I’ve wanted a sweater vest like this one for a while and am so glad I found this one!  It’s a great neutral color to throw on over your long sleeve tees, button-up shirts and mostly any other top.  Verdict: I bought this one!

I saw this Plaid Ruffle Utility Henley Blouse and immediately thought about the green plaid top that I included in the Workwear Winter 2018/2018 capsule wardrobe eBook!  If you are looking for a shirt with a deeper shade of green, this one is gorgeous!  The ruffle collar is versatile enough where you can wear the top by itself or layer under a sweater, without the fuss of the traditional fold-down collar.  Verdict: loved the shirt, but I didn’t need it in my capsule wardrobe.

Plaid Shirttail Hem Blouse (untucked, wearing size Medium)

Ok, if you are needing a top to wear to your Christmas and holiday parties, this is it!!!  The festive plaid pattern is a gorgeous shade of red that would look fabulous on anyone!  It has a round neckline and slightly tapered sleeves at the shoulders.  You can wear this top with a skirt, jeans, pants and even underneath a black sleeveless ponte dress.  It would also be a great addition to a capsule wardrobe using red as an accent color.  Verdict: Didn’t buy, but may buy it to wear during the Christmas holidays.

Striped Cowl Neck Tunic Top (wearing size Medium) / PLUS-SIZE

Double Frayed Skinny Jeans (wearing size 10) / PLUS-SIZE

additional items I’m wearing:
Minnie Travel Ballet Flats

As soon as I put this outfit on, I knew I was going to buy it!  ThisStriped Cowl Neck Tunic Top tunic reminds me a lot of the Cowl Neck Tunic Sweater I mentioned above.  I have a tendancy to stick with solid colors in my capsule wardrobes, but this striped pattern is nice neutral shade of gray, which will coordinate well with other clothes in my Winter capsule wardrobe.  The overall fit is perfect and the length of the sleeves are just right.  You can wear it as a tunic with jeans, pants or leggings, or you can tuck it in to a skirt for a dressy look.  Verdict: I bought this top!

I saw these Double Frayed Skinny Jeans in the “mineral teal” and the color caught my eye.  I’m usually not drawn to teal, but I really love this color!  The color will be perfect for Winter in my capsule wardrobe.  It’s a shade of teal that anyone could probably wear.  These jeans also come in “plum preserve” which is burgundy/berry color.  The double frayed hem is darling and you can wear them with flats or booties, or tuck them in tall boots too.  Verdict: I bought these jeans!

Stitchy Flare Sleeve Sweater in “silver heather grey” (wearing size Medium)  / PLUS-SIZE

additional items I’m wearing:
Double Frayed Skinny Jeans (wearing size 10)
Minnie Travel Ballet Flats

When I saw this sweater, I really liked the diamond pattern, but wasn’t sure about the flared sleeves.  The material is very soft and also comes in white.  While I really liked the sweater, I didn’t need another gray sweater in my wardrobe, so I didn’t buy it.  I do recommend it though.  Verdict: Didn’t buy.

Striped Ribbed Sweater (wearing size Medium)

Ankle Zip Corduroy Skinny Pants (wearing size 10)

additional items I’m wearing:
Minnie Travel Ballet Flats

This Striped Ribbed Sweater looks better on the model online than it did when I tried it on.  Maybe it was the busy stripes pattern, plus it seemed a bit big on me, even though I was wearing a Medium.  The Ankle Zip Corduroy Skinny Pants in “tahoe pine” was a bit snug, probably because of the corduroy material.  The color was very pretty though, a vivid green color!    Verdict: Didn’t buy the sweater nor the jeans.

That’s it for the dressing room reviews.  Which ones are your favorites?
