My 26-Piece Winter 2020 Athleisure Capsule Wardrobe

I created an athleisure capsule wardrobe for the remainder of the Winter 2020 season, including neutral and accent color tops, bottoms, layers and shoes, based on the Simplified Style® Athleisure Collection capsule wardrobe.

For those of you that are readers of the Classy Yet Trendy blog, you know that I have been using a capsule wardrobe in my closet for several years. I absolutely love using a capsule wardrobe every season. My closet is neat and tidy, I get dressed quickly and I always know what to wear! I am so passionate about capsule wardrobes that I made it my full-time job to not only blog about capsule wardrobes, but create seasonal capsule wardrobes (available in the Capsule Wardrobe eBook Store) for women all over the world!

Every season I share my own personal capsule wardrobe here on the blog. I build my own capsules in my closet based on the ones in the Capsule Wardrobe eBook Store. I don’t have an outfits guide here (since this is my own capsule), but the outfits based mostly on my own capsule are in the Simplified Style®: The Athleisure Collection.

In early December, I created casual/athleisure neutral Winter capsule wardrobe for my closet, which was a mix of casual style (jeans, tees, cardigans and sweaters) and athleisure style (leggings, joggers, pullover, vests and a hoodie). It included tops, bottoms, layers and shoes in all neutral colors. You may recall my Spring 2020 Neutral Capsule Wardrobe, my first neutral capsule. I absolutely loved that one and enjoyed all the outfits I created from it. And, I enjoyed my Fall 2020 Neutral Capsule Wardrobe, especially the shoes!

We have been mostly staying home to avoid Covid and I have been doing more work at home on Classy Yet Trendy, so athleisure outfits currently fit my lifestyle. I have seen more and more fellow fashion bloggers also wearing athleisure and sometimes a mix between athleisure and casual lately. Athleisure-style is very much on-trend!

Simplified Style ATHLEISURE- A Year-Round Capsule Wardrobe COVER

You can use my own personal capsule wardrobe for your closet! You can use Simplified Style®: The Athleisure Collection as a stand-alone wardrobe or add pieces from your closet to it! From time to time, some readers will write to me asking, “Will I get tired of wearing neutral colors all the time?“, or “How I can I add color to my neutral outfits?” Since neutral color basic essentials are the core items in your closet that we use in all our outfits, chances are you may not get tired of wearing them, but if you want to change things up a bit, you can add some color by adding clothes in 1 or 2 accent colors and also with colorful handbags and accessories! How Did I Build My Capsule Wardrobe?

I built my capsule wardrobe based on the eBook, Simplified Style®: The Athleisure Collection – A Year-Round Core Closet Essentials Capsule Wardrobe. I used the Winter Season Capsule Wardrobe Checklist in the Simplified Style®: The Athleisure Collection and added the majority of those to my closet. Since I work at home, I didn’t need the outerwear in my capsule. I will wear of those pieces, the leather jacket or puffer coat, when I have to run errands or go out to eat. Just like in the Simplified Style®: The Athleisure Collection, black is my base color of my capsule. I omitted the striped turtleneck and instead added a gray striped long sleeve tee and also added a leopard pattern long sleeve tee and quarter-zip gray top that I had in my closet. I don’t have the white athletic sneakers in the Simplified Style®: The Athleisure Collection, so I added my white casual sneakers I had in my closet. I may end up ordering a pair of white athletic sneakers that is in the Simplified Style®: The Athleisure Collection capsule, not sure yet. I chose Blush as my accent color and added a blush color sweatshirt and zip hoodie pieces to my capsule.

Let’s start with the clothes. Anytime you create a capsule wardrobe, I recommend “shopping your closet” first for similar pieces so you don’t overspend. Since I work at home, I only need light layers, like cardigans, vests, zip hoodie, etc. I will add the leather jacket or puffer coat (that is in the Simplified Style®: The Athleisure Collection) when I run errands, go to the grocery store or out to eat.
