Shapewear Favorites From Shapermint I Can’t Live Without As A 40+ Midsize Woman

When we wear outfits that we love, we feel great wearing them and they can even boost our confidence. Shapewear is an important part of an outfit, as it shapes your body and smoothes out any lumps or bumps, creating a sleeker and more streamlined look. Shapewear can shape the waist, hips, thighs, and tummy, providing more definition to your natural curves.
I recently tried a few pieces from Shapermint and was pleased at how well everything fit and how much better my clothes fit wearing them! Shapermint is a size-inclusive apparel retailer specializing in shapewear and intimates. They have all the shapewear and intimates you need, from shapewear and bras, to camis and panties. They even have swimwear, tanks and leggings!
For size reference, my height is 5’9″ and I weigh approximately 175 lbs., have an hourglass figure and I am mid-size. For tops, I typically wear a size Medium (10) or Large (12), depending on the brand and fit of the top (for slim-fit, I usually wear a Large). For bottoms, my normal size is a 12 (depending on the brand and fit of the bottom) OR a 31 waist; a 10-inch high rise fits my waist the best and a 28 inch inseam falls at my ankle, 30 inch inseam is full-length on me. My shoe size is 9 medium or 40EU.

Truekind Convertible Strapless Bandeau Bra
The first shapewear I tried on is the Truekind Convertible Strapless Bandeau Bra in “Chai” (wearing a size Large) and the Shapermint Essentials All Day Every Day Mid-Waisted Shaper Short also in “Chai” (wearing the M/L size). I was excited to see how well this body-con dress fit. For comparison, I put on this dress with my usual bra and panties and could definately tell a difference in how the dress fit my body. The Truekind Convertible Strapless Bandeau Bra lifts the “girls” (a.k.a. my breasts) and keeps them in place and the Shapermint Essentials All Day Every Day Mid-Waisted Shaper Short smoothes my curvy hips, flatens my belly and the dress freely glides with my body as I walk. I can’t wait to wear these pieces more underneath all my dresses, tops and bottoms!

Shapermint Essentials All Day Every Day Tank Cami
When I tried on the Shapermint Essentials All Day Every Day Tank Cami in “black” (I’m wearing the size 10/12) I loved the way it fit my body! It slims, smoothes and lifts my chest area and acentuates my neckline. The straps are wide enough so you can wear a regular bra! This tank fits like a bodysuit but without the fussy snaps at the crotch inseam and tucks in easy to your bottoms!

The Shapermint Essentials All Day Every Day Scoop Neck Cami in “white” (I’m wearing the size 10/12) fits like the Tank Cami above but with narrow straps. This scoop neck cami is perfect for layering or wearing it by itself with pants, skirts or shorts in the summer season! I styled it below with my linen pants and layered it underneath my linen shirt.
