Talbots is one of my most favorite places to shop! I have several of their wardrobe essentials in my closet and in my own Winter capsule wardrobe. What I love about Talbots is their clothes are made well and the quality shows. Their clothes wash well and last; I still have some pieces in my closet from several years ago and will enjoy wearing them!
I have browsed through the sale items at Talbots and have personally selected several items that I recommend for key wardrobe essentials. What are “wardrobe essentials”? Wardrobe essentials are basic styles clothes and shoes in neutral colors that are classic and timeless and never go out of fashion. They are items that have been around for years and continue to be in style. For example, wardrobe essentials are items like a white tee, blue jeans, white pants, black dress, black blazer, etc.

Essentials For Your Capsule Wardrobe
Talbots has lots of items on sale that are great for a capsule wardrobe! All the items I picked shown above in the collage could be its own capsule wardrobe! Just add a couple of tees and knits on sale for a complete mini capsule wardrobe.
Favorites I Highly Recommend
“Little Black Dress” – Every woman needs a “Little Black Dress” in her wardrobe and this Fit & Flare Dress hits all the marks! It is a polyester/spandex material mix and is machine washable, so it will wear well and be easy to care for all year. You can wear it now, in the winter, by layering it with this ivory cardigan in the sale, black tights and these tall black boots also in the sale. Carry it over into Spring with this denim jacket in the sale. Wear it in the Summer by itself with a pair of sandal heels. Then, wear it in the Fall with these black suede pumps also in the sale.
Diamond Puffer Vest – One of my favorite layers to wear in the Winter is a puffer vest. For those of you like me who have mild winters, sometimes just a vest is the perfect layer to keep warm. This puffer vest comes in several colors including including a go-with-everything ivory color.
Classic Denim Jacket – I love wearing a denim jacket in the Spring and Fall. Depending on your climate, you might wear a denim jacket in the winter too. This denim jacket has a classic shape and color, making it a wardrobe essential.
White Stovepipe Jeans – White jeans are a favorite color of denim to wear several seasons of the year. Since these jeans have a cotton/lyocell/spandex mix, they will be soft and comfortable to wear with some stretch.
Slim Ankle Blue Jeans – I love the denim wash of these jeans and the slim ankle style. They have a bit of spandex in the material mix so these jeans will move with you, are stretchy but will hold their shape.
