I thought I would share the skin care I use under my makeup, the makeup products I use and how to get a dewy finish, which is so important if you are over 50! After many years of wearing makeup I have found the best products that work best for my skin. I am so excited to share my favorite products and a few tips with you!

My Skin Prep Routine
Before I apply my foundation, I prep my skin by applying serum and moisturizer. It is SO important to moisturize your skin to smooth your complexion and combat any dryness you may have. I have been using Merit Beauty Great Skin Instant Glow Serum and Merit Beauty Great Skin Priming And Firming Moisturizer for several years. I have tried other products but they just don’t compare to these two! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND them! And, Merit Beauty just came out with Great Skin Rich Moisturizer (in Mini Great Skin Skincare Essentials Gift Set), which I apply at night or wear on the weekends when I don’t wear makeup.
How I Combat Wrinkles and Have Dewy Skin
I have found over the years that drinking plenty of water keeps my skin hydrated from the inside and using a good skin care system on the outside helps to combat wrinkles. Using a good moisturizer and applying minimal finishing powder also gives my skin a dewy look. Of course, naturally as I have aged, I have some slight wrinkles around my eyes. Every morning I fill my Stanley 30 oz. Tumbler (I have the Rose Quartz, Blue Sky a LoveShack Fancy special edition from last year) with filtered water and add a lemon wedge to it for some flavor. The stainless steel lining chills the water and gives it a clean taste.
