When it comes to getting dressed everyday, you want to look great, but you don’t want to have to take forever to get dressed.  We have so much we have to keep up with these days, like family, job, house and all kinds of activities.  Wouldn’t it be nice to not have to decide what to wear?  What if you had all the tops, bottoms and layers picked out for you and dozens of outfit ideas?

When you use a capsule wardrobe system, your closet is neat, all your favorite clothes are in one spot and you have lots and lots of outfit possibilities!  Each of the capsule wardrobe eBooks are complete wardrobes for a season, with each item carefully chosen to help you look your best and that can be worn in many outfits.  Before I started using a capsule wardrobe, my closet was a complete mess!  I had too many clothes with too many patterns and countless clothes that didn’t look right on me.  My confidence was at an all-time low and I felt stressed every time I opened my closet to try to find something to wear.  After I had seen an article on the internet about capsule wardrobes, I spent many hours researching about them and how they worked.  I decided that I would try using a capsule wardrobe system.  It took me a while to apply what I had learned, because I started from scratch from a couple of articles.  I wish I had one of my capsule wardrobe eBooks back then!

After a couple of seasons of using a capsule wardrobe, I got the knack of it.  I found out what items are core closet items, those basic essentials that are the building blocks of a wardrobe.  I also learned what items mixed well together.  When I was experimenting with creating outfits, I learned a few easy outfit formulas.  All the outfits below are in one of the new eBooks this season, The French Minimalist Capsule Wardrobe: Fall 2017 Collection.  These are 4 of 100 outfit ideas included in the collection!

What makes an outfit look finished and put together are layers!  When you add a leather jacket or a sleeveless drape vest, it completes an outfit.  If the weather is too warm to wear layers, add a banana scarf around your neck, wear a statement necklace or earrings or make your shoes and handbag the statement pieces.  Those accessories will make your outfit pop without being bulky and hot.

  1. Just found your blog. Very inspiring! I am wanting be begin a wardrobe capsule, and your ideas are great. Thanks so much for adding plus size options as well!

  2. I loved your lounge wear capsule wardrobe. I would get up earlier if I didn’t have to get dressed straight away, but I still looked put together on my lounge wear. I also like your o5er capsule wardrobes – a formula for greeting dressed. I see it as top, bottom, shoes and extra layer. How basic is that? Yet, some fashion bloggers make it difficult when they stay start with a statement piece and build around that. I just don’t know what my statement pieces are, and I find it much easier to start with basic coverings, then lift it by adding a statement piece, be it another layer, a scarf or necklace or bag. Thank you.
