My Bedroom Bedding Refresh: How I Style Our Bed For A Warm Spring and Hot Summer + [VIDEO]
Spring is here and it’s time for some much needed spring cleaning! In the spring cleaning process, I pack away all the heavy winter fabrics and linens and bring out the lighter, more airy fabrics to prepare for the warm weather.
I live in the south, so our springs are warm and our summers are hot and humid. When it is time for bed, I want to crawl into a cool bed and stay cool and cozy all night for a blissful and good night sleep. It has been a few years since I bought new bedding, so I looked at buying a new quilt, sheets and accent pillows. I’m a huge fan of Quince for their quality clothes and bags. I looked at their bedding and was pleasantly surprised at the selections and low prices!
I selected a few bedding items and placed an order. When they arrived I was thrilled to see how beautiful each piece was! The fabric quality and color tones are simply gorgeous and I couldn’t wait to style my bed.

How I Styled Our Bed For The Warm Spring & Hot Summer
Here is the exact process of how I style my bed for the new season from start to finish:
- Take everything off of our bed until it is just the bare mattress.
- Wash the Linens – Wash and dry everything that you will be putting on your bed.
- Vacuum the Mattress – I use our Dyson v11 Cordless Vacuum with the Brush Head Tool attachment to vacuum our mattress.
- Put on the Mattress Pad – A mattress pad helps protect and preserve your mattress.
- Put On The Sheets – A great, restful sleep starts with your sheets! I had never tried bamboo sheets, but I heard they were great for regulating your body temperature at night. I bought this Bamboo Sheet Set in “White”, size King. The first night my hubby and I slept on these sheets we LOVED them! We both agreed they were so soft and kept us both cool and cozy all night!
- Add the Quilt – I bought the European Linen Cotton Stitch Quilt Set in “White”, size “King/Cal King” and used just the quilt. We like to use a quilt in the spring and summer, since it stays warm/hot at night where we live. Instead of a quilt, you could use this Down Comforter and this Duvet Cover Set for extra warmth.
- Add an Accent Quilt (optional) – I like to add an extra quilt at the foot of the bed, not only color contrast and texture, but to keep our feet warm at night. I bought the European Linen Box Quilt in “Sand”, size “King/Cal King”.
- Add the Euro Pillows (optional) – For our King size bed, I used 3 of the Euro 26″x26″ Square Size Pillow Inserts and covered them with these European Linen Euro Shams in “Sand”.
- Add Decorative Pillows (optional) – The final step is adding decorative pillows for color and/or texture. These are the Chunky Hand Knit Wool Pillow Cover – Set of 2 in “Ivory”. The pillow inserts are the 20″x20″ Pillow Inserts.
Our Vacuum Cleaner
I highly recommend the Dyson v11 Cordless Vacuum! It is the best vacuum cleaner I have ever used AND there is cordless. Just keep it on charge and use it whenever needed. Easy peazy!
Our Nightstands & Lamps
A few months ago we replaced our nightstands and table lamps. Our nightstands are the Amberlyn 27.2” H Traditional 2-Drawer Nightstand with Built-In Outlets in “White”. They are more of an ivory color. We love them! I use the shelf at the top to store the book I’m reading and my Kindle. Our lamps are the Threshold Large Black Ceramic Lamps.
