3 Ways To Wear a Chambray Top

I bought this Denim Popover Top (currently on sale!) from Madewell a couple of months ago along with this City Skirt, Arrow Necklace and Double Bar Ring.  I had been looking for a black cotton knit skirt that I could wear either casual or dressy.  I have had a black pencil skirt for a few years, but I felt like the material on it was too dressy looking.  I needed one I could wear casual.  I found one online at Madewell that thought would be perfect.  A few months ago, while I was in Birmingham one Saturday, I went in Madewell to see if they had the skirt.  I found the skirt and bought it, along with the Denim Popover Top and the jewelry.  All those pieces have been good investments, as they wear well and look good with just about everything in my closet.  Madewell is now one of my favorite stores!

I’ve posted three photos of outfits of me wearing the Denim Popover Top on Instagram, wearing it different ways.  I plan on wearing the top into the fall as well, with my taupe cardigan (similar), burgundy cardigan (exact) or black faux leather jacket (similar).  I plan on wearing the black City Skirt into fall as well.  It will look good with a chunky sweater or cardigan like this one.

I consider clothes as investments.  I have changed my shopping habits from going on a spending spree and buying clothes that I don’t know what to wear them with or get tired of them in a few weeks, to investing in one item at a time that is made well, has quality fabric, is the right color and will go with at least three other pieces in my closet.
