Affordable Summer Outfits To Wear When It’s Hot and Humid

The other day I was shopping at Walmart and noticed they have some really pretty Summer clothes and shoes! You know, when it comes to buying clothes for our wardrobes, you want to buy great quality clothes, but also at affordable prices that won’t break the bank. This Summer, Walmart has several clothes and shoes in trending styles, like crochet, gauze material, ruffles and beachy colors.
If the Summer weather where you live is hot and humid, you want to wear pieces that keep you cool. Here in Alabama, most of our Summers are hot and very humid, so wearing the lightest of clothing ideal. We also wear shoes that let our feet breathe, so sandals are a must-have!
My favorite fashion lines at Walmart are Time and Tru, Scoop and Free Assembly. Their fashion lines include not only great affordable basics for your capsule wardrobe, but also trending pieces to keep your wardrobe fresh for the season.
For size reference, my height is 5’9″ and I weigh approximately 165 lbs. For tops, I typically wear a size Medium (10) or Large (12), depending on the brand and fit of the top (for slim-fit, I usually wear a Large). For bottoms, my normal size is a 10 OR a 30/31 waist, a 10-inch high rise fits my waist the best and a 28 inch inseam comes to my ankle. My shoe size is 9 medium or 40EU.
This Time and Tru Split Neck Tank Dress (size Large) is light and breezy and is so easy to wear! I’m wearing the “blue paradise tie dye” pattern; it comes in other colors too. This dress will be perfect to wear on a beach vacation, family cookouts, shopping on the weekends and also out to lunch. I just love these Time and Tru Twist Strap Sandals (size 9) in the “tan” color! I love the cognac color, which coordinates well with all my Summer outfits. They have a Memory Foam Footbed, making them very comfortable, with the casual style of a flat slingback sandal. These sandals are in my Summer capsule wardrobe!

I added this Time and Tru White Fedora Hat to my outfit to complete the look and also keep my head cool from the sun! This hat has an adjustable tie band inside to adjust the fit to your head. It also comes in a light tan color and black.

My next outfit is one I wore in this post this week, “How To Host A Summer Celebration & My Peach Sweet Tea Recipe.” When I saw this Time and Tru Puff Sleeve Top in the “aqua spring” color (size Large), I knew it was coming home with me! I love the aqua blue color with the white stripe pattern and the slightly puff sleeves, elevating the style of this tee. I’m wearing it with these wardrobe staple Time and Tru Denim Shorts with Cuffed Hem (size Large). I completed my outfit with these No Boundries Flatform Two-Buckle Sandals in “white” (size 9) with a cushioned footbed. This style of buckle sandals are on trend again this year and I love them! I can’t wait to wear these sandals to the beach!

I love your styling tips for looking professional yet dressing for the job teachers are required to do! Great looks! t would be fantastic if you included styling ideas for school spirit days. Schools often have casual friday but it is also considered the day to wear school tshirts. The tshirts themselves often have mascots or school slogans and are boxy, color schemes can be garish. Could you style some ideas that highlight school tshirts but still look fashionable?…please!
I live in a rural area and unless I want to drive an HR & 1/2 I shop at Walmart. I discovered the Time and True brand. The tiered dresses I bought were right on trend as were the sleeveless swing dresses. I then decided to try out the denim crop pants. Major stretch, major fit, major love!!! They are in double sizes 10/12, etc, pullon but you’d never know (flat waistband, fly front and a button). I bought a great denim tiered blouse, denim tiered mini dress and hoodies to match the sleeveless swing dresses to take them into fall. I found fantastic men’s George T shirts in gorgeous colors that are part poly so no shrinking. They came in crew and v neck for $5.48. I bought several plus 4 white.
I need help accessorizing. I also need a good optic white button down.
