How To Mix And Match Winter Essentials With A Gray Coat

Wool coats are a winter essential! In this post, I’m styling a few winter essentials with a dark gray coat. This coat, along with the clothes, shoes and accessories in this post are from my own closet and are in my Winter 2023 classic neutral capsule wardrobe. The winter essentials are a coat, sweaters, jeans (you can also use pants), boots, and leather sneakers. If you live in a cold climate or have several days of cold, winter weather, then add a scarf and beanie.

The coat I will be featuring is this Mango Wool-blend Gray Coat (mine is from last year; a darker gray, but same style). I have this coat in my own winter capsule wardrobe. Other color coats I also recommend are: Mango Wool Coat in “Light/Pastel Gray” (looks like an ivory color), Abercrombie Wool-blend Dad Coat in “dark gray”, “black”, “light brown” or “taupe” (on sale) or Mango Belted Coat in “medium brown”.

How I Chose The Clothes, Shoes & Accessories

I picked a few clothes and shoes from my Winter 2023 classic neutral capsule wardrobe: a gray coat, 2 sweaters, 2 jeans and 2 shoes. Of course, this is not a full season wardrobe, but in this post, I wanted to show how to mix and match a few pieces to create several outfits. I went with a neutral color palette for simplicity, but you can always add a few pieces in your favorite colors. The color palette is gray, black , ivory and denim.

For accessories, I chose a patterned scarf and beanie to wear to show how to coordinate them with the clothes and shoes. In the outfit ideas, I also added jewelry and bags to complete the outfits.
