How To Style A Tank Dress: 4 Outfit Ideas + VIDEO

Tank dresses have been trending this summer! I love the simple style of a tank dress. They have a clean silhouette and is an effortless casual piece to wear in the summer. What Is A Tank Dress?
A tank dress is a style of dress that typically features a sleeveless bodice with a high neckline similar to that of a tank top. The dress is usually fitted at the top and then flares out at the bottom, creating a relaxed and comfortable silhouette. Tank dresses are often made from lightweight fabrics such as cotton or jersey, making them ideal for warm weather or casual occasions.
For size reference, my height is 5’9″ and I weigh approximately 170 lbs., have an hourglass figure and I am mid-size. For tops, I typically wear a size Medium (10) or Large (12), depending on the brand and fit of the top (for slim-fit, I usually wear a Large). For bottoms, my normal size is a 12 (depending on the brand and fit of the bottom) OR a 31 waist; a10-inch high rise fits my waist the best and a 28 inch inseam falls at my ankle, 30 inch inseam is full-length on me. My shoe size is 9 medium or 40EU.
The tank dress I am wearing in this post is new to my wardrobe from Quince (c/o). It is their Tencel Cotton Mixed Media Tank Dress in “Black” (size Large) (c/o). It also comes in a lovely navy color! The top is a cotton/Tencel, spandex blend, and the skirt 100% organic cotton. The fabric of the top is soft and stretchy, while the skirt is lightweight woven cotton poplin. The dress has two pockets, it is machine washable and has an invisible size zipper on the side of the top. I absolutely love this dress and I highly recommend it!

Another piece new in my closet that you will love too is this Italian Leather Handwoven Slouchy Shoulder Bag in “Taupe” (c/o). The style reminds me of a designer brand, but at a fraction of the price! The leather on the bag is so soft and lays well on my shoulder. I can fit everything I need in this bag with room to spare! The taupe color of the bag is the perfect neutral color that will go will all of your outfits. It also comes in black and cognac brown.

Outfit 2 – Dressy Blazer & Pumps
In this outfit, I styled the Tencel Cotton Mixed Media Tank Dress in “Black” (size Large) (c/o) for the office or church. I added this similar H&M Blazer in “Beige” (my exact one is from H&M last year) (size Large) and these Vaneli Cap Toe Slingback Pumps in “Pudding Leather” (fits true to size, size 9).

Outfit 3- Casual Denim Jacket & Sneakers
For the next outfits, I styled the Tencel Cotton Mixed Media Tank Dress in “Black” (size Large) (c/o) casually, which would be great for running errands, going out to lunch or shopping! Just add a layer, like my favorite denim jacket, the ABLE Merly Denim Jacket in “Clean Wash” (size Large). I have had this jacket for a few years and it just keeps getting better with every wear. This denim jacket isn’t rigid like most denim jackets and is so soft and moves with you, thanks to the Cotton/Lyocell material blend! I’m also wearing my Frye Ivy Sneakers in “white” (sized up to a 9.5). I believe I have had these sneakers for three years and they are my favorite casual sneakers ever and so comfy! The bag I’m carrying is the Madewell Essential Bucket Tote in “Warm Cinnamon” and it holds a lot!

The Tencel Cotton Mixed Media Tank Dress in “Black” (size Large) (c/o) becomes an elevated-casual outfit, styled with this similar Loft button front ivory cardigan (mine is from Loft from a couple of years ago) and my soft Vivaia Margot Ballet Flats in “black” (fits true to size, 9). I added this Amazon Crescent Shoulder Bag in “Beige” (is actually an ivory color) to coordinate with my cardigan and minimal jewelry.
