An Early Fall Country Western Outfit: Plaid, Denim, Cognac & Turquoise

I’m really loving the current western trend! When I was in my 20’s I was really into boho style, so the western trend feels so natural to me. I’ve always loved a good cognac color leather bag, cowgirl boots and turquoise!

I found this complete outfit at Nordstrom Rack! It was so easy to put together and Nordstrom Rack had plenty of sizes to choose from. Here in Alabama, our summers last until October, so it gets kind of tricky dressed for fall while it’s still in the 80’s and 90’s! The key to creating a fall outfit and staying cool while it’s still warm outside, is to wear fall prints but with short sleeves. Also, omit the layers until the temps cool down. But, if you are going out at night, you might carry a light jacket or cardigan with you in case the temperature gets cool at night where you live.

The top I’m wearing is plaid with earthy colors, which is an appropriate pattern and colors for the fall season. It has pintuck details at the waist so it creates a tailored silhouette. The flared hem adds a feminine touch to the structured shape. I love the style of this top since the pintuck waist conceals my belly pooch (as some of us have as we get older)! The wide leg jeans let air circulate so your legs stay cool in the warm temps. And, the shoes I’m wearing let my legs stay cool with the short ankle shaft.
