A New Year + 3 New Resolutions

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year Everyone!  How was 2015?  Are you ready for a new year?  I sure am!  I’m ready for new goals, new possibilities and new resolutions!

It’s a tradition to set your New Year Resolutions.  What’s yours?   Here are 3 of my resolutions:

Practice Simplicity

Life is simple, but it’s what all we do that makes it all seem complicated.  Life is about living and enjoying the things in it, whether it be family, relationships or nature, just to name a few.  I’m going to focus on those things and everything else will fall into place.

Don’t Sweat The Small Stuff

Before my boss retired a few years ago, he would tell me, “Don’t sweat the small stuff, because it’s all small stuff.”  In this busy world, we tend to be overworked and overstressed.  We just have to remind ourselves to slow down and convince ourselves that we’re not Super Woman!  We can’t do it all.  Sometimes I get so caught up in my full-time job, blogging and being a wife and mom.  I love it all, but sometimes it seems like a juggling act.  Being a divorced mom who remarried, the responsibilities of raising my daughter falls mostly on me.  Sometimes just that part in my life gets overwhelming.  When things get complicated, I’m going to stop more and focus on the things that really matter.

Don’t Second-guess Myself

Do you ever second-guess yourself?  We have an idea and want to set a goal, but then we start second-guessing ourselves and it seems that it hinders us from accomplishing that goal.  Sometimes I’ll think, “what if I fail?”, or “what if this turns out bad”.  Sometimes I’m afraid of failing, but I’m learning to just jump in and do it.  If I don’t succeed, then I realize I certainly tried.  A recent goal that I’ve accomplished is writing my first E-Book.  I had an idea to write an E-Book about using a capsule wardrobe to get ready faster and save money on clothes.  In the beginning I thought, “how am I going to write this”, “what tools will I use”, and “will it even sell”?  I took one step at a time.  I used the internet to research how to write an E-Book and what tools others used in writing their E-Books.  Then, I started writing my E-Book.  When I was finished, I knew it would help women get dressed quickly and more easily.  It made me feel good to know I could help others out, simplifying their lives by helping them get dressed everyday.  When it started selling several copies a day, I was thrilled!  (Thank you for those to have purchased my E-Book)  My resolution is to not second-guess myself and just go with it!  We all can accomplish great things if we just jump in and do it!  See the link below to read more about my E-Book:
