Outfit Details:
One of my favorite colors to wear is black.  It’s such a versatile color!  It can look plain if you wear it by itself, so what I like to do is add a pop of color.  Since I’m a big fan of capsule wardrobes and keep a capsule in my closet year-round, I always include at least one black top or bottom (preferably both) in my capsule.

The outfit I’m wearing today is almost exact to Outfit #54 in my newest e-book, The Workwear Capsule Wardrobe: Fall 2016 Collection.  It’s for sale NOW in the Capsule Wardrobe E-Book Store.  I chose to wear this short sleeve boatneck blush top in “Pink Dune” instead of the long sleeve version in the e-book, because the temp is still in the 90’s!  Also, I substituted this bag for the one in the e-book (I already had a black bag) and these Everlane Modern Point loafers instead of the black heels.  I’ve had these Gap Bi-Stretch Ankle Pants since last year and I love them!  Like the name says, they stretch just enough and fit wonderfully.  The scarf above appears to be out of stock (hopefully it’s only temporary), but I found this small scarf that is beautiful and would work with this outfit.

Everlane Modern Point Loafer

My Everlane Modern Point Loafer Review

I splurged on these Everlane loafers in because I have been needing a pair to wear to work and on the weekends.  I chose the Everlane brand because they are committed to ethical fashion and are transparent with how they price their products. Not to mention, THE CLOTHES & SHOES. Basics and classics are really where it’s at with Everlane. They sell high quality shirts for really affordable prices. (Like the Cotton V Tee at $15). They sell some luxury pieces too, like the cashmere cardigan!  They also have the Modern Loafer, which is a more casual shoe.  Since I needed a loafer that I could wear either dressy or casual, I chose the Modern Point Loafer.

When I’m getting ready to buy an investment piece to add to my capsule wardrobe, I like to research about it on the internet.  I went to Google and typed in “Everlane Review”.  I found reviews on several blogs.  I had read on Everlane.com to get a half size bigger than what you normally wear.   To be safe, I bought a size 9 and a 9 1/2.  I figured I could return which one doesn’t fit.  The 9 was way too tight.  The 9 1/2 was still snug when I put them on, but I had read that the leather would loosen up the more you wear them.  I wore them around the house on the carpet and a little while later they loosened up more.  They felt comfortable then.  I wore them to work yesterday and within the day they were broken in.  I’m SO glad I bought them!
