black ankle boots

I couple of weeks ago I changed my closet over to my Winter capsule wardrobe and have mostly all the pieces, but I’m still waiting on a muted pink sweater, this BP V-Neck High/Low Sweater, to come in from Nordstrom.  I had bought it in a Large and when it came in I tried it on and it was way too big on me (don’t know what I was thinking when I ordered the large!).  I had to send that one back and am waiting on the medium to come in.  When the sweater arrives, I’ll be taking lots of pictures and sharing my Winter capsule wardrobe…stay tuned!

Today, I’m wearing this black soft jersey turtleneck, quilted vest in the “gosh garnet” color, raw hem light wash jeans and black ankle boots, with rose gold jewelry.  The turtleneck and vest are new this season, that I added to my Winter capsule wardrobe.  I bought the jeans this past Fall and I’ve had these black booties for a couple of years.  I had initially put the jeans I’m wearing above in my Winter capsule wardrobe, but have decided not to include them as they a bit too light for Winter, but instead have included these AG legging jeans I bought from a Black Friday sale.  I wore the quilted vest the other night when my husband and I went out to dinner and received a compliment on it.  It’s a beautiful shade of deep red and it goes with nearly everything in my capsule.  The sizes are limited online, but hopefully they will restock more sizes.  If they don’t have your size online, you can always search for your size in your nearest store.

  1. Hi Leanne
Love the look! Vests are sold out at Old Navy online and in my stores. Do have suggestions on similar Vests?

    Thanks!

  2. Lynette,

You search for several vests using ShopStyle.com. Just type in what you are searching for, like “burgundy vest” or “puffer vest”, and it will search hundreds of retailers at one time. I have been using the affiliate section of their site for about 3 years, love it and rely on it to find what I need for my capsule wardrobe!

  3. Thank you Cheryl! Burgundy is one of my favorite colors to wear in the Fall and Winter seasons.

  4. Thank you Lisa! It took me a while to start wearing rose gold, as I used to wear just gold and silver, but now I love rose gold.
