Winter Coat Try-On Session and Black Friday Sales Codes
We have already had some cold days here where I live, so I know that Winter is just around the corner! Until this year, I have never been a huge fan of coats. I live in the South, so our Winters are mostly mild and have relied on a puffer jacket and insulated vests to get me through the cold season. This year, coats have really grown on me, especially seeing all the gorgeous styles out there!
I decided on three colors of coats I wanted to have in my closet and also include in my Winter capsule wardrobe: a camel coat, a black coat and a patterned coat (classic patterns of either herringbone, plaid or houndstooth). I favor tailored coats, but I am also open to belted coats too.
I ordered a few coats to try on and thought I would share what I ordered. I kept three of them for my Winter capsule wardrobe, which I just posted here on the blog a few days ago.
With several Black Friday Sales already started this year, I have noticed a few of these coats are on sale. If your size is sold out, check back with the retailer because they may restock.
For size reference, I am 5’9″ in height. For tops, I typically wear a size Medium, but size up to a Large sometimes, depending on the brand and style of the top. For bottoms, my normal size is a size 10 / 30 waist. My shoe size is a 9 medium width. For coats, I wear mostly a size Large, but if it is an oversized style I will size down to a Medium.

Mango Black Double Breasted Wool Coat
This is the Mango Black Double Breasted Wool Coat in the black color. This coat comes in 4 color choices. It looks great worn casual with jeans, like I’m wearing it below, or you could dress it up with pants, a skirt or a dress. This coat is lined and has a button closure. I’m wearing a size Large. I absolutely love this coat and kept it for my Winter capsule wardrobe.

Mango Brown Belted Wool Coat
Long Wool Coats are trending this season, especially belted ones, so I thought I would order one to try it on. This Belt Handmade Coat in the “Medium Brown” color has a loose, flowy style to it which I really like! The color is gorgeous in person! I’m wearing a size Large in this coat.

Sanctuary Carlton Coat
The pattern on this coat is gorgeous! I’m wearing a size Large, which I think it runs a tad big and I should have ordered a Medium. The style and length are perfect, but it is a lightweight coat. It feels more like a sweater blazer, so if you live in warmer climates and want the look of a coat, but don’t need the warmth, you will love this coat!

Zara Menswear Wool Coat
I absolutely love the style of this Zara Menswear Wool Coat in the “Taupe Brown” color. It has just enough tailoring to have a polished look, but relaxed enough to wear casually. I’m wearing a size Large and it fits perfectly. The camel color is spot on and it is lined. The length comes to just above my knees (I’m 5’9″) and has a button closure. This coat looks great with jeans like I’m wearing or you can it with pants, skirts or dresses. Ahh, I found my favorite camel coat and I added it to my Winter capsule wardrobe!

Zara Fitted Wool Blend Coat
This Zara Fitted Wool Blend Coat in the “Light Tan” color is a gorgeous tailored coat. I’m wearing a size Large and it fits well. If you need a coat to wear with your dresses and skirts, this is the one! It has a dressy vibe to it with the pointy lapels and buttons on the front and along the ends of the sleeves. The camel color is beautiful on this coat!

Madewell Averdon Herringbone Coat
I LOVE this Madewell Averdon Herringbone Coat! It is a gorgeous coat in person and has just enough tailoring on it with the lapels, but is simple enough to wear casually or dressy. I’m wearing a size Large, but since it is a slightly oversized style, I should have ordered a Medium because it is a bit large on me. I did order a Medium (waiting on it to arrive) and have returned the Large. This coat has a button closure, is lined and is made of Insuluxe fabric (from the description, “signature Insuluxe fabric is a best seller for a reason: Woven in Italy of traceable and sustainable NATIVA™ certified wool, plus a touch of cashmere, it’s superwarm and naturally water and wind resistant.”) I can’t wait to wear this coat this Winter!
