3 Ways To Wear Black Flare Pants: Dressy, Elevated-Casual & Casual

I have always loved Old Navy’s Pixie Pants. When I used to work in the office, I had a few Pixie Pants on rotation every week! They are not only budget friendly, but I love how they are stretchy, hold their shape all day and how they flatter your figure. Old Navy now has Pixie Flare Pants and I. LOVE. THEM! I tried a black pair on in the store a couple of weeks ago and thought OMG where have these pants been all my life! I bought the black pair and also bought a charcoal color pair. They come in several colors! I bought the Pixie Flare Pants in Regular length which has a 32″ inseam and they also come in Petite and Tall lengths.

In today’s post, I’m sharing three ways to wear these pants: dressy, elevated casual and casual. You need to add a pair (or two) of these pants to your closet, I highly recommend them!

For size reference, my height is 5’9″ and I weigh approximately 169 lbs. For tops, I typically wear a size Medium (10) or Large (12), depending on the brand and fit of the top (for slim-fit, I usually wear a Large). For bottoms, my normal size is a 10 or 12 (depending on the brand and fit of the bottom) OR a 30/31 waist, a 10-inch high rise fits my waist the best and a 28 inch inseam falls at my ankle. My shoe size is 9 medium or 40EU.

OUTFIT 1: DRESSY

This outfit would be perfect to wear in a professional office or to a business meeting. These High Waisted Pixie Flare Pants in “black” (size 12) are great to wear to the office. You will be comfy all day wearing these pants, whether you are sitting at your desk or walking around the office. This Button-up Cotton Poplin Shirt (size Large) is one of my favorite button-up shirts ever! It’s not stiff like some shirts and the blue stripes add a bit of color to your outfits. I’m also wearing the Cecile Sweater Blazer in “hthr khaki” (LOVE this almost exact one from Quince) that I have had for a couple of years. Every closet needs a classic pair of these Vandam Black Pumps (size 9 true to size). They are very comfy and I love the heel height which is perfect. I completed the outfit with this Rebecca Minkoff Edie Flap Shoulder Bag in “Black/Antique Brass”, my Daniel Wellington black/rose gold watch, similar Mejuri gold hoop earrings and gold pendant necklace.

OUTFIT 2: ELEVATED CASUAL

Outfit 2 is an elevated casual outfit with the High Waisted Pixie Flare Pants in “black” (size 12). The Sezane Leontine Henley Striped Sweater (size Medium) is a casual style, but the Sam Edelman Loafers in “cedarwood” with gold bit hardware (size 9 true to size) and coordinating Coach Pebbled Leather Shoulder Bag in “dark stone” dresses up the look. You could wear this outfit out shopping, to lunch with friends or to a business casual office. I completed the outfit with my Daniel Wellington black/rose gold watch, similar Mejuri gold hoop earrings and gold pendant necklace.

OUTFIT 3: CASUAL

This High Waisted Pixie Flare Pants in “black” (size 12) outfit is casual with the Frye Ivy Low Lace Sneakers (sized up a half size to 9.5), Gap Factory White Crewneck Tee (size Large) and ABLE Merly Denim Jacket in “clean wash” (size Large). These Frye Ivy Low Lace Sneakers are new to my wardrobe and they are SO COMFY! I loved the Gap Factory White Crewneck Tee so much when it arrived in the mail that I ordered the black and gray colors as well! It is not see through with a nude color bra and the cut, fit, softness and style checks off ALL the boxes making it a perfect tee. I have had this ABLE Merly Denim Jacket in “clean wash” for a couple of years now and it’s my most favorite style of denim jacket. It is a blend of cotton and lyocell making it soft and not stiff at all, plus the length is a bit longer than most denim jackets, which flatters your figure. I also added this Portland Leather Crossbody Tote in the NEW “Dakota” color (c/o), which is a brushed leather and it is the perfect tote to carry to work, out shopping and bring with you to the ball football games since it can hold ALL THE THINGS!
