My Swimwear Capsule Wardrobe And How I Wore It At The Pool

My hubby and I went out of town a few days ago and stayed at a lodge at a local state park in the mountains. It was so nice to relax by the pool and take in the sun and fresh air. It was a last minute trip, but I took my favorite swimwear from Lands’ End and always had something to wear at the pool!

Lands’ End is one of my most favorite places to shop! I have several items in my wardrobe from Lands’ End, including some tops, shorts, pants and skirts. A couple of months ago I needed to freshen up my swimwear and ordered a few of their pieces. When they arrived and I tried them on, I could not believe how well they fit and the quality of the swimwear. Now that I have tried Lands’ End and love everything I have tried, Lands’ End is my favorite swimwear brand and it is what I’ll be wearing at the beach and at the pool all summer!

I created a swimwear capsule wardrobe so that I can mix and match pieces when I go to the beach and pool. It was easy to pull a few pieces together that are summer essentials, including swimwear, cover-ups, a hat and a tote to carry everything in.

For size reference, my height is 5’9″ and I weigh approximately 170 lbs., have an hourglass figure and I am mid-size. For tops, I typically wear a size Medium (10) or Large (12), depending on the brand and fit of the top (for slim-fit, I usually wear a Large). For bottoms, my normal size is a 12 (depending on the brand and fit of the bottom) OR a 31 waist; a10-inch high rise fits my waist the best and a 28 inch inseam falls at my ankle, 30 inch inseam is full-length on me. My shoe size is 9 medium or 40EU. For swimwear, I am typically a Large or size 12.

This day I wore the Lands’ End Chlorine Resistant Twist Front Underwire Bikini Swimsuit Top in “Deep Sea Navy” (size 12) and Lands’ End Chlorine Resistant Tummy Control High Waisted Bikini Swim Bottoms in “Deep Sea Navy” (size 12). I also wore this Lands’ End Sheer Oversized Button Front Swim Cover-up Shirt in “White” (sized down to SM). To keep my head cool from the hot sun, I wore this Lands’ End Facesaver Sun Hat in “Radiant Navy” (size SM). I packed my sunscreen, beach towel, lip balm and a few other essentials in the Lands’ End Large size 5 Pocket Open Top Canvas Tote Bag in “Natural/Radiant Navy”. I have been wanting this tote for a while and am so glad I got it! It is very roomy and has pockets all around the inside, which is great for stashing your sunscreen, lip balm, book to read, sunglasses and snacks!

I paired the Chlorine Resistant Wrap Underwire Tankini Swimsuit Top in “Deep Sea/White Media Stripe” (size 12, Regular, Underwire) with the Chlorine Resistant Tummy Control High Waisted Bikini Swim Bottoms in “Deep Sea Navy” (size 12). This time I wore the Sheer Oversized Swim Cover-up Pant in “White” (size M 10-12) over the swimsuit bottoms to the pool. I also wore the Facesaver Sun Hat in “Radiant Navy” (size SM) and carried the Large size 5 Pocket Open Top Canvas Tote Bag in “Natural/Radiant Navy”.

After the pool, I changed into the Lands’ End Cotton Jersey Sleeveless Swim Cover-up Dress in “Deep Sea Navy/White” (size M 10-12). I put my swimsuit, hat and beach towel in the Large size 5 Pocket Open Top Canvas Tote Bag in “Natural/Radiant Navy”, waited on my hubby at a table by the pool, then we both headed inside the lodge for an afternoon drink. You can wear this dress as a cover-up or as a casual dress like I wore it below.
