4 Ways To Wear Neutrals (Trendy Wednesday #126)

We’ve had a few hot and humid days despite all the rain lately!  Here in the South, we have plenty of sweltering hot days, so it’s important to dress in clothes that will stay cool.  Wearing light fabrics with summer-inspired fabrics are always popular, but I like to wear neutrals too.

Before I started my first capsule wardrobe, my closet was filled with clothes that had patterns.  I had hardly any clothes with solid, neutral colors.  I had jeans and a black tank, but that was about it.  I didn’t even have basic essentials like a white tee, black top or a denim skirt.  Now, all my capsule wardrobes have basic essentials.  They make up about half my capsule wardrobe every season.  Because I use mostly essentials, I save lots of money too because I avoid constantly buying new clothes.  If you are curious about using a capsule wardrobe in your closet, find out how to create your own with my most popular blog post, How To Start a Capsule Wardrobe: 5-Step Visual Guide.  I also have a Capsule Wardrobe e-Book Store that shows you how to create a capsule wardrobe, all the suggested clothes and shoes you’ll need, 100 outfit ideas, plus much more!

In the summer I like to wear loose fitting clothes made with mostly cotton in the fabric.  Skirts are always a good idea to have in your wardrobe, plus they look dress up your outfit.  My favorite shoe to wear in the summer is sandals.  I avoid plain, regular flip flops, but love dressier thong sandals, like Tory Burch’s Miller sandals and this pair of Jack Rogers Whipstitched Flip Flop (love these!).

I’ve been busy this week at my 9-5 job, training the person that will replace me, because great news…I’m leaving the workplace to blog full-time!  I’ll have more time to devote to ClassyYetTrendy.com and to publishing the popular Capsule Wardrobe e-Books.  I’ve had several requests for more packing guides using capsule wardrobe items, more types of e-books, so I’ll be adding those to the site as well.
