I’m having fun with my Fall capsule wardrobe!  There’s so many outfit combinations with just a few clothes in my closet!  Today, I’m wearing my chambray shirt (bought last year), olive jeans (new) and these Hinge Barris Block Heel Booties (new).  I bought this chambray shirt last year as a replacement for the one in my capsule wardrobe.  I love the way it fits and color is a lovely blue.  Here in the photos, I wore this shirt untucked for a casual look, but you could do a half tuck too for a more fitted look.  As the weather turns cooler, I’ll be wearing this chambray shirt with my burgundy cardigan, suede jacket, utility vest and even my black faux leather jacket.

Both the top and jeans are in The Essential Capsule Wardrobe: Fall 2017 Collection eBook, which is like your own Personal Stylist in an eBook!  This guide will transform your closet by showing you step-by-step how to create a capsule wardrobe, which clothes and shoes you will need (most you may already have in your closet already), plus 100 outfit ideas, a travel packing guide using a few items in your capsule, plus more!  Get your copy HERE!

Last year I purchased a pair of olive jeans from Madewell, but after a several washings they started having splotches on them, so I had to replace them this year.  I was disappointed because they were so comfortable!  I chose these olive jeans after reading great reviews on them.  Being that DL1961 jeans run small, I had to size up and I’m glad I did.  The fit is wonderful, with just enough stretch to hold their fit all day.  The color is gorgeous too!  As with all my colored jeans, I turn them inside out before I wash them in cold water.  Then, I just hang to dry and slightly iron them to remove any wrinkles.

I bought these taupe suede booties from the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale a few weeks ago.  This is the first pair of ankle boots that are open, so it’s kind of tricky to wear socks with them.  The solution…no-show socks!  These booties are comfy and didn’t require any break-in time.

I bought these Sophia Drop earrings the other day when my daughter and I were in the Kendra Scott store.   I had been wanting this pair for a while and couldn’t resist buying them since Kendra Scott was having their Labor Day sale.

  1. I love reading your posts. Great ideas! Thank you for adding the plus size options. As a plus size gal, I still want to look good and dress well!

  2. Thank you Diane! After several requests, I’ll be adding plus-size options to my posts if they are available!

  3. Thank you Gigi! Both the chambray shirt and the olive skinny jeans are comfortable enough to run errands, yet have a polished look too.

  4. I just purchased a pair of olive jeans; found a cute olive and navy T-shirt, plus a pair of olive booties! My chambray shirt will complete the look! Thanks for this post!

  5. Olive is one of my favorite colors right now! I love how you paired these jeans with the chambray, along with those fabulous booties! I can’t wait to try this combo out. Thank you for inspiring, as well as hosting. 🙂

  6. Thank you Jules! Yes, I hated that my other pair of olive jeans faded like that; I don’t like to waste money on clothes. They were a lighter olive color and these are a true deep olive. Hopefully, these will last longer.
