3 Essentials To Include In Your Travel Wardrobe

When we travel, we want to make sure that our outfits not only look great but functions well, especially if we are out and about walking and sightseeing. Our outfits need to be comfortable and keep us cool or warm, depending on the climate we are traveling to.

For size reference, my height is 5’9″ and I weigh approximately 165 lbs. For tops, I typically wear a size Medium (10) or Large (12), depending on the brand and fit of the top (for slim-fit, I usually wear a Large). For bottoms, my normal size is a 10 OR a 30/31 waist, a 10-inch high rise fits my waist the best and a 28 inch inseam comes to my ankle. My shoe size is 9 medium or 40EU.

1. Wardrobe Staples In Neutral Colors

Since I have been creating capsule wardrobes since 2015, I have learned that packing your wardrobe staples in neutral colors makes it easy to mix and match everything, giving you several outfit combinations! Such pieces for Summer may include a tee, tank, denim shorts, linen pants, chino shorts, casual skirt, simple dress, etc. Keep in mind, what you pack depends on your destination and climate you are traveling to.

I found this simple little black dress at Walmart and it is 100% cotton, making the fabric breathable and comfortable. The style of the dress works well when you travel, since you can wear it sightseeing during the day, then throw on a cardigan or blazer over it and add heels for a dinner outfit.

I love this Sleeveless Midi Dress in the “black soot” color (wearing a Large). I’m wearing the black color and it comes in four other colors. The length comes just below my knees, so it is a good length to wear when you are sightseeing. It has slits on either side, so it makes it easy to walk in and is breathable when it’s hot!

2. Comfortable Shoes

When you travel, you want to make sure you pack at least one pair of comfortable shoes for walking. There’s nothing worse than getting blisters on your feet when you are out sightseeing! 3. Lightweight & Secure Crossbody Bag

If you will be traveling to an area where there will be a lot of tourists, be sure to wear a bag with zippers to keep your belongings secure and a crossbody style to wear over your chest. This will deter theft and you can focus on sightseeing rather than constantly watching your bag. My large size iPhone 14 Pro Max fits perfectly inside the middle compartment!

These are the the Two Strap Platform Sandals with Espadrille Trim in the “sand” color (sized down 1/2 size to an 8 1/2). These shoes remind me of my Birkenstock big buckle sandals, but a fraction of the price! These shoes are great to walk in since they have a comfort footbed. I absolutely LOVE the beige color, which goes well with so many of my Summer clothes in my closet!
