Neutral Colors On Repeat: Black and Tan

I have really enjoyed wearing outfits in my own Summer capsule wardrobe! I included several of my favorite basic essentials, plus added a few pieces that are new to my closet. Mostly all the pieces in my Summer capsule wardrobe are classic styles, like tanks, tees and tailored shorts. They are also in a neutral color palette with black as the base color and soft blue as the only accent color. I experimented with my own capsule wardrobe this Summer, which is a French Riviera style, influenced by French Minimalist and Coastal Vibes styles.

A color combo I have been especially drawn to this Summer is black and tan! These two neutral colors go with everything in my capsule wardrobe. I can even wear these colors into the Fall season so they are great transition colors.

For size reference, my height is 5’9″ and I weigh approximately 165 lbs. For tops, I typically wear a size Medium (10) or Large (12), depending on the brand and fit of the top (for slim-fit, I usually wear a Large). For bottoms, my normal size is a 10 OR a 30/31 waist, a 10-inch high rise fits my waist the best and a 28 inch inseam comes to my ankle. My shoe size is 9 medium or 40EU.

Let’s talk about these Quince European Linen Wide Leg Pant in the “driftwood” color (c/o) (size Large)…I LOVE them! I love the soft material and wide elastic waist with the drawstring in the front. The “driftwood” color is a lovely tan color and the hem of the leg falls just below my ankle. Quince is a sustainable company and offers luxury that lasts for a fraction of normal retail prices. I love this Talbots Pima Bateau-Neck Black Tank (size Medium) so much that I bought it in the black, white and navy colors! I have the black and white colors in my own Summer capsule wardrobe. I like that it is similar to a sleeveless top and does not cut in too much from the shoulders.
