Try-On Session Reviews: Nordstrom, Nisolo, Amazon, Quince, Madewell

I have started planning the summer capsule wardrobes and my own summer wardrobe as well! I know it’s just the end of March, but here in the south our summers start early! As part of my job as a virtual stylist and fashion influencer, I continually look at new and upcoming trends to make sure we all dress in-style and look our best! I have ordered a few things and the orders have started coming in. Mostly all of you love seeing try-on sessions so you can see what clothes and shoes look like on an everyday woman…like me!

Our summer season here in north Alabama are Hot and Humid! They are so humid during the peak of summer, that you can just walk outside and you will start sweating, so it is essential to wear clothes that are breathable and lightweight like linen and cotton and shoes that are open and comfortable, like sandals. Those of you also in the southern states like Florida and the border states like Texas and Arizona, you can relate with the hot temperatures!

For size reference, my height is 5’9″ and I weigh approximately 170 lbs., have an hourglass figure and I am mid-size. For tops, I typically wear a size Medium (10) or Large (12), depending on the brand and fit of the top (for slim-fit, I usually wear a Large). For bottoms, my normal size is a 12 (depending on the brand and fit of the bottom) OR a 31 waist; a10-inch high rise fits my waist the best and a 28 inch inseam falls at my ankle, 30 inch inseam is full-length on me. My shoe size is 9 medium or 40EU.

The first piece I tried on is this Amazon Essentials Midi A-Line Dress in “Blue White French Stripe” (size Large). At just $34.90, this dress is a bargain ya’ll!!! I love the style of this dress, the color is a lovely French blue and the material is SO soft and flowy! You can wear this dressy or casual, with heels, sandal pumps (like I’m wearing), flat casual sandals or sneakers. This is going to be my Easter dress for church next week! Amazon has quick shipping, so if you order it, you should get it in a couple of days (check the estimated arrival date when you Add To Cart). This dress will be lovely to wear this spring and summer! My sandal heels are from a few years ago (Madewell), but I love these Stella Block Heel Sandals in “almond” and these Bristol Sandals in “beige”!

I ordered a few items from Nordstrom and I added a new pair of sandals to my closet. I love the simplicity of this Madewell Linen Blend V-Neck Top in “Juniper Berry” (size Large). It pairs well with these Caslon Straight Leg Linen Pants in “black” (size Large). I absolutely LOVE these Nisolo Go-To Flatform Sandals in “black/black” (fits true to size, size 9). These sandals are very comfortable to walk in all day and the chunky style of these sandals will be on-trend this summer. This would be a great casual vacation outfit!

I have been looking for a soft and flowy midi skirt that I can wear in the warm months and that I can carry on vacation. This Amazon Essentials Pull-On Midi Skirt in “black” (size Large) is perfect and is only $21.80!!! You could also wear this outfit to work with a blouse, blazer and heels. The woven bag in the 2nd photo below is the Quince Italian Leather Convertible Crossbody Bag in “taupe”. This bag would be great to carry on vacation as a crossbody bag; it’s lightweight, has a zipper and lays against your body. It comes with 2 straps: a shoulder strap and an adjustable crossbody strap. In the first photo below, I’m wearing the Nisolo Go-To Flatform Sandals in “black/black” (fits true to size, size 9). In the second photo below, I’m wearing my Nisolo Huarache Sandals in “almond” (fits true to size, size 9). Those of you who have been following my blog for a few years know that I have worn the Nisolo Huarache Sandals for several years; I’m on my 2nd pair!

I loved how well the Amazon Essentials Pull-On Midi Skirt in “black” fit above, that I also ordered it in the “black white abstract animal” pattern (size Large)! You can beat the $21.80 price and it’s a great skirt that is soft and flowy! I’m wearing it with my Square Neck White Tee (size Large) and my Born Inlet Sandals in “Light Gold Met” (fits true to size, size 9).

The next items I tried on from Nordstrom was this Caslon Linen Blend Popover Top in “white” (size Large) and these Wit & Wisdom Ab-Solution Slim Straight Ankle Pants in “optic white” (size 12). The top is a little bit see through; I’m wearing a nude bra so it blended some with the off-white color of the fabric. This top will be cool in the hot summer! I used to have a pair of these ankle pants in the skinny style a few years ago and loved them. They look like jeans, but they have soft, thinner fabric and feel like pants. These are a slim-straight style, so you can leave your tops untucked if you want to. I’m also wearing my Nisolo Huarache Sandals in “almond” (fits true to size, size 9) and the Quince Italian Leather Convertible Crossbody Bag in “taupe” with the crossbody strap.

This Caslon Cotton Gauze Henley Top in “blue skyway” (size Large) is very soft and the color is lovely! It also comes in white and light pink colors. It is a henley-style popover top and the cotton gauze material has a beautiful texture. Here I am wearing it untucked with the Wit & Wisdom Ab-Solution Slim Straight Ankle Pants in “optic white” (size 12), but you can also wear it with a slim skirt, jeans and shorts. To complete the outfit, I added my Steve Madden Hadyn Sandals in “cognac leather” (size 9, true to size) and my Portland Leather Goods Mini Crossbody Bag in “honey” with added Leather Tassel in Classic size “honey” color.

My favorite colors to wear are neutral colors, but I also love wearing soft blue and green, which look best with my complexion. When I saw this Lucky Brand Print Smocked Top in “aqua multi” (size Medium), I just had to order it. I love the soft green pattern and relaxed style of this top! Since it is a relaxed style, I sized down to a Medium. This top also comes in warm yellowish green pattern and peachy brown pattern. I’m wearing the top with the Wit & Wisdom Ab-Solution Slim Straight Ankle Pants in “optic white” (size 12), but you can also wear it with a slim skirt, jeans and shorts. To complete the outfit, I added my Steve Madden Hadyn Sandals in “cognac leather” (size 9, true to size) and my Portland Leather Goods Mini Crossbody Bag in “honey” with added Leather Tassel in Classic size “honey” color.

This Lucky Brand top has a lovely blue floral pattern and is a different style that the one above. It is the Lucky Brand Floral Print Cotton Peasant Top in “blue multi” (size Medium). This top a round neckline with buttons down the front. The material is all-cotton and is lightweight and soft. I’m wearing the top with the Wit & Wisdom Ab-Solution Slim Straight Ankle Pants in “optic white” (size 12). To complete the outfit, I added my Nisolo Huarache Sandals in “almond” (fits true to size, size 9) and the Quince Italian Leather Convertible Crossbody Bag in “taupe” with the shoulder strap.

I love a good chambray shirt and this Caslon Chambray Camp Shirt in “light wash” (size Large) is SO SOFT. The blue color of this shirt is perfect and since it is 100% Tencel lyocell, you will want to wear it all the time! Nordstrom’s brand Caslon knocked it out of the park with this one!!! I’m wearing the shirt open over my Amazon Aware Ribbed White Tank (size Large) / similar ribbed white tank. I’m wearing the top with the Wit & Wisdom Ab-Solution Slim Straight Ankle Pants in “optic white” (size 12), the Nisolo Go-To Flatform Sandals in “black/black” (fits true to size, size 9) and my Dragon Diffusion Santa Croce Bag in “black” / similar Naghedi Shoulder Hobo bag in “onyx” (midpriced) and similar Amazon woven tote bag in “black” (budget).

Here I’m wearing the Caslon Chambray Camp Shirt in “light wash” (size Large) untucked with the Wit & Wisdom Ab-Solution Slim Straight Ankle Pants in “optic white” (size 12) and my Spanish Sandal Co. Nubuck Sandals in “Ecru” (size 9, true to size). I have wore the Avarcas Pons sandals brand for a few years and these Spanish Sandal Co. Nubuck Sandals in “Ecru” are more comfortable since they have a padded insole. I had trouble choosing which color to order! It was a tossup between ecru, linen and tan, but went with the ecru since it is a cool-toned color.
