What I Wore In The April 2020 #HowIWearItChallenge
Find out which challenge pieces I chose and what outfits I wore during the 6-Day #howiwearitchallenge.
With everything going on in the world due to the Covid-19 virus for several weeks and everyone being urged to stay home, everyday was starting to feel like a repeat of itself. I thought we all needed a diversion, and what better way to have a diversion, than with a fun style challenge!

I have participated in a similar challenge in the past, the #10x10challenge, started by Lee, from Stylebee and Caroline, from Un-Fancy a few years ago. These challenges were fun and they helped me narrow down my personal style and which pieces worked well in a capsule wardrobe.
I thought of a unique challenge, in that you would style a different piece in an outfit, everyday for a week and named it the “How I Wear It Challenge” (#howiwearitchallenge). Each piece would either be clothes or shoes, something simple that mostly everyone would already have in their closets. This gave everyone an opportunity to go outside their capsule wardrobes and “shop their closets” to create outfits everyday.
You can read more about the #howiwearitchallenge with this blog post, Join Me In the #HowIWearItChallenge Wardrobe Challenge, where outline the challenge, what pieces to use and when it started and ended.
Here are the pieces I used in the challenge and how I wore them in my outfits. My outfits are simple and comfortable, since I’m staying at home and working at home.
Day 1 – TEE
Challenge Piece: J Crew Factory V-Neck White Tee. I wore it with my Madewell High-Rise Skinny Jeans and my Tory Burch Black Ballet Flats. The weather was cool that day, making it cool in the house, so I wore my Shawl Collar Gray Cardigan. I added my Kendra Scott Silver Kyocera Opal Necklace and my Kendra Scott silver adjustable bracelet (similar style).

Day 2 – JEANS
Challenge Piece: Madewell Black Jeans. I didn’t realize it when I put this outfit together, but it is head-to-toe Madewell (excluding the jewelry)! I’m also wearing my Chambray Central Shirt and Gemma Mules. Although I didn’t go out that day, I added my Zip-Top Transport Crossbody Bag for the photo. I wore my Leonor Bar Drusy Necklace and this White Howlite Bracelet Set from Target.

Day 3 – SNEAKERS
Challenge Piece: Madewell White Sidewalk Sneakers. These sneakers are fun to wear, so I thought I would wear them with my new Gray Peplum Tee (see this tee in the Loft Try-On Post here) and Wit & Wisdom Light Wash Ankle Jeans (LOVE these jeans!). I added my Platinum Drusy Necklace, Silver Sophia Earrings and Platinum Drusy Bracelet.

Challenge Piece: Loft Beige Open Cardigan (sold out), similar Target Cardigan & similar Shawl Cardigan in “oatmeal heather”. I wore a statement tee, this Z Supply Leopard Pattern V-Neck Tee (limited sizes), similar Cheetah Print Tee and similar Amazon Leopard Tee, my Madewell High-Rise Skinny Jeans and Nisolo Woven Mules. I added my Argento Vivo Gold Initial Necklace.

Day 5 – STRIPED TOP
Challenge Piece: Boden Striped Top. I have had this top for about 3 years now and it’s one of my favorites! It’s a boatneck style and the length comes just past my mid-hip, so you can wear it untucked or do a half-tuck, like I’m wearing it in the photo below. I’m wearing my Wit & Wisdom White Ankle Pants in the “optic white” color (come in several other colors too). These pants fit like jeans, but are a softer material so you can easily dress them up with a pair of heels, or wear them casually like below with these Pons Avarcus Sandals in “tan”.

Day 6 – FLATS
Challenge Piece: Leopard Pattern Flats. These statement flats instantly makes this outfit more interesting! I’m wearing my White Central Shirt and my Black Wash Jeans (similar). I added these Elle Gold Drop Earrings in “ivory mother of pearl” and this Zorte Gold Cuff Bracelet in “S/M size”. If I were going out, I could pieces like these: a tan denim jacket, a short trench coat, a linen blazer or an open cardigan to complete my outfit.
