Try-On Session Reviews: Styles In My Closet From Quince – PART 1 (Sweaters, Cardigan, Coat, Jeans, & Bag) + [VIDEO]

Quince is a brand I continue to get questions on, and it seems every time I pop back onto their site they are always adding to their product lineup. I have been a repeat customer of Quince sweaters and pants for about 3 years now and feel that I have a pretty good grasp of which styles I recommend the most. I have featured Quince items in several of my posts, so you can look back and see which ones I have either tried on or included in outfit collages.

Over the years, I have continually added Quince styles to my closet, from their sweaters and cardigans, to their pants and bags. Each one I have received has been of the highest quality and I highly recommend curating your wardrobe with items from Quince.

In this post, I will be reviewing several of their sweaters, cardigans, jeans, coat, pants and bags. I also put together a Reel of all the outfits on my Instagram @classyyettrendy.

For size reference: my height is 5’9″ and I weigh approximately 175 lbs., have an hourglass figure and I am mid-size. For tops, I typically wear a size Large (12), depending on the brand and fit of the top. For bottoms, my usual size is a 12, waist 31; a 10-inch high rise fits my waist the best and a 28 inch inseam falls at my ankle, 30 inch inseam is full-length on me. My shoe size is 9 medium or 40EU.

Caring For My Sweaters & Cardigans

I wash my sweaters on the delicate/hand wash cycle in cold water with Woolite Liquid Detergent, then lay flat to dry on my OXO Sweater Folding Drying Rack (I have 2 of these, which are stackable).

The first outfit features this Quince Mongolian Cashmere Boxy Crewneck Sweater in “ivory” (size Large). It fits true to size is this is one of my most favorite sweaters! It is boxy style sweater and feels so good layered over a button-down shirt. I recently added this Quince Double-Faced Merino Wool Notched Lapel Coat in “oat” (size Large). Even though it is unlined, it is toasty warm, soft and smooth! It is not itchy at all and I love the cool color tone, which is hard to find in most coats. It is a nice neutral color that coordinates well with so many other pieces in my closet. I should have steamed the coat after I took it out of the package, as it has a few wrinkles at the bottom it received during shipping, oops! I highly recommend this coat! I’m carrying the Quince Italian Leather Handwoven Slouchy Shoulder Bag in “taupe”. This bag is very similar to the Bottega Veneta Jodie bag but much more affordable and the quality of the bag is impeccable!

In the next outfit, I am wearing the item that Quince is most known for, the $50 Cashmere Sweater! This is the Mongolian Cashmere V-Neck Sweater in the “heather grey” color (size Large). This is a recent addition to my wardrobe and I absolutely love it! I have worn it so many times already. The gray color is the perfect color tone, not too light and not too dark. It is the v-neck style, which styles well with your necklaces.

My bag is the Cafune Stance Bag in the “black” color with gold hardware. It is such an elegant bag and elevates any outfit you are wearing. My jeans are the Talbots High-Waist Barely Boot Jeans in “black” (size 12), which I also wore in this post during the holidays, “Elevated-Casual Black Watch Tartan, Green & Black Holiday Outfit“. The reversible belt that I enjoy wearing is the Edited Pieces Reversible Horsebit Belt which you can wear either black or brown, so it is 2 belts in one! It is genuine, premium leather and nickel free. Here is a similar budget style belt on Amazon.

My shoes are the Gucci Horsebit Loafers (size 9) that I have had for several years. They were an investment but I bought them as a reward for celebrating my blog anniversary a few years ago. I also recommend these Sam Edelman Loraine Loafers, which are another favorite of mine since they are super comfortable (I have the Cedarwood color).

This cardigan is the Mongolian Cashmere Oversized Boyfriend Cardigan Sweater in “oatmeal” color (sized down to a Medium). It is so soft and warm, but yet still breathable.

I recently added these Easy Spirit Loretta Block Heel Tall Boots in “black” (sized up a half size to 9.5) to my closet and absolutely love them! I am picky about my shoes and was wanting a minimalist style that could be worn casual and dressy and would be comfortable. These boots check all the boxes!

OTHER OUTFIT DETAILS:

This Mongolian Cashmere Oversized V-Neck Sweater in “brown” is a lovely shade of brown! Brown tones are definately trending this season and I’m all in, whether it is sweaters, bags, shoes or coats. Since this sweater is “oversized” I sized down to a Medium, and I could have sized down to a Small since it is a generous fit.

This is the first time I have tried Quince jeans and I am pleasantly surprised at how much I love them! They fit like designer jeans, but are at an affordable price point! These are the Stretch High Rise Kick Flare Jeans in “medium wash”. I am wearing a size 31, inseam: 30.

My bag is the Cafune Drop Hobo Bag in “dark rosewood suede” c/o. Madewell’s Essential Bucket Tote in “dark carob” is very similar with a lower price point. I added a pop of leopard to my outfit with the J. Crew Factory Leopard Belt (size Medium-Large).

  1. Hi – your reviews are great! Can you tell me about the fit of the “boxy” sweater in the first pic? The coat hides the detail of hem and I wondered where it hits on the body (waist, high hip?) and how boxy it is?
    Thanks!
