What I Wore On Our 5-Day 30A Beach Vacation in April 2026

My hubby and I took a long weekend trip to our favorite beach destination…Santa Rosa Beach in 30A Florida! This makes the 4th time we’ve stayed in Santa Rosa Beach! We love staying in the 30A area because it is quiet and relaxing, it has delicious food and the beach is beautiful with its white sand and blue-green waters of the gulf.

If you have never been to the 30A area, I highly recommend spending a few days there! This was the 4th time we have vacationed in the 30A Santa Rosa Beach area. What makes 30A so unique is there are hardly any hotels along the 26-mile span. The majority of places to stay are vacation rentals. There are several distinct coastal communities, each with its own architectural planned neighborhoods so each community is different. There are several coastal lakes and nature trails and a dedicated paved bike trail that runs along the highway. All the times we have vacationed there, we have stayed in a Journey’s End condo, managed by Dune Allen Realty (sign up for their newsletter for discounts!), but there are several more vacation rentals, plus individually owned properties through AirBNB and VRBO.

When I was planning my travel wardrobe, I used my Travel Wardrobe Packing Chart to take the stress out of deciding what to pack. You can use this chart to help you quickly and easily plan your travel wardrobe. I shared this packing tool in this post, “Travel Wardrobe Packing Chart: An Essential Planning Tool For Your Vacation Getaway or Work Trip [PDF + Canva Template]“.

2. Edit the Template In Canva

You can use the Travel Wardrobe Packing Chart as a template in Canva! This method takes a bit of time, but you may like this method if you are a visuals person. Open the template in Canva and either add images or text of the pieces you want to pack. When you are finished, either download the finished chart to your phone/tablet or print it for reference.

Laundry While Traveling

If you need to freshen up your clothes while on your trip, you can pack a small, packable container of laundry detergent and wash any pieces in the sink in your hotel room, then hang to dry if there isn’t a washer/dryer close by. When building your travel capsule wardrobe, avoid packing dry-clean-only items.

My Outfits

Here is how I wore my travel wardrobe on our vacation. My travel wardrobe will make several more outfit combinations, so feel free to create more outfits if your vacation is longer than 5 days!

I wore my Day 1 outfit while we were traveling in our car. Santa Rosa Beach is about 5 1/2 hours from our house, with an hour for eating a meal and a couple of pit stops along the way, so I wore this outfit to be comfortable while riding in the car. I wore my cardigan since it can get cool riding with the A/C on.

My Day 2 outfit was this Popover Top in “medium wash”, Linen Shorts in “flax” and these Strap Comfort Sandals in “tan waxy burnished”. We spent the morning resting in the condo and sitting on the balcony overlooking the beach. We ate a late lunch at Stinky’s Fish Camp in Santa Rosa Beach. Stinky’s is our favorite restaurant on 30A and their fish tacos are delicious!

Stinky’s Fish Camp is adjacent to Allen Lake and there is a boardwalk you can walk on to view the dune lake. It is beautiful!

On Day 2 we ate lunch in the Seaside community at the Shrimp Shack and it was so good! It was just a bit cool in the morning so I wore my cardigan over my shoulders. We browsed in a couple of stores, then drove back to the condo and spent a relaxing afternoon on the beach. We rented beach chairs, an umbrella and a wooden table from Emerald Coast Beach Service and they were great! We ate supper at Shunk Gulley Oyster Bar in Santa Rosa Beach. The food was so good!

Day 4 consisted of only eating an early lunch at Stinky’s Fish Camp (again!) in Santa Rosa Beach and spending the rest of the day on the beach!

We headed back home on Day 5 and this is what I wore. It was warm that day so I wore my denim shorts and the sage pattern tee.

  1. Hello Leanne, from rainy Washington state. Its 45 degrees here, and I’m jealous! I’m glad you had a wonderful time, and I enjoyed your sharing. The outfits are cute, and the food looks scrumptious! I recently purchased the Yearly Casual Capsule Wardrobe. I’ve gotten hours of enjoyment using it to create a wardrobe for myself. Thank you for your creativity, and work you put into it.

  2. I hope the weather warms up for you soon! I’m so glad to hear you are enjoying the yearly casual capsule. Have a wonderful day! 😀❤️

  3. We love that area also. If you ever go visit again check out the Marina Cafe early bird specials. Fine dining experience and two dinners for one. The locals love that place so get a reservation.

  4. Thank you Lynn for suggesting that! We will check it out next time we go! 😀❤️

  5. Great outfits! Lots of inspiration and appreciate all the links. I travel a fair bit and in carryon-only with a backpack as my personal item. I generally go for 4 tops, 4 bottoms, 3 layers, 2 shoes for week+ visits (my basis is wearing the tops at least 2-3 times depending on the weather.) The weather changes the weights and type of the items (ex. The tops in winter are mock turtlenecks, summer are tshirts.). If we are doing ~2 weeks, we are going to do one visit to a laundry mat but being in very hot Singapore, I have learned the benefit of one of the thin workout material tops that I can wash in the sink and it dries overnight.
You are really offering great wardrobes with all the travel options. I have to admit the summer outdoor/RV capsule you did a few years back was one of my favs and hope you do it again!

  6. Hi Leanne! What a great post. I hope you had a great time and lots of yummy food. Just bought my annual French capsule. Can’t wait to use it later this month on a three week vacation with my mother. Lots of ❤️!
