I have always wanted to try creating a capsule wardrobe but I love shopping & statement pieces too much!

My problem is this: how to find pieces that look like this that actually fit me. I’m short and petite, so I almost guarantee the long cardigans would be so long they’d look like a trench coat; button-up woven shirts usually make me look like I got swallowed; and don’t even get me started on how hard it can be to find a pair of pants that fits right and not too tight! 🙂
I love how your outfits are put together; I’m just really bad at shopping to find pieces in my budget that fit me well. (And for that matter, how do I know what “fits well”? How do I know if it’s the fit that’s the problem or that the style in general isn’t good for me?)
Diana,
If you’re petite, try wearing cardigans that are the classic, waist-length, button-up style. Those look great on smaller women. Also the open-style, just below the waist cardigan look great too. Also, look for the “petite” version when shopping online. I know Loft and Old Navy have petite sizes and their clothes are always in-style.
