Wear Now, Wear Later: Summer To Fall (TW #130)

| |

To make the most of your wardrobe, you include pieces that can be worn in several outfits.  That’s what makes a capsule wardrobe so efficient and easy on your wallet.  There are those special items that can transition between seasons, letting you get the most wear.  A great item to transition between seasons is one that can be worn by itself or underneath another item.

Wear Now, Wear Later- Summer To Fall

Summer Outfit: sleeveless ruffle top // pencil skirt // earrings // black bag under $17! // heels

Fall Outfit: sleeveless ruffle top // scarf //black bag // jacket // jeans // booties on sale!

I’ve found a sleeveless ruffle top that is a soft powder pink color.  This top can be worn in many outfits, nearly year round.  While it is still Summer, it can be worn with a black pencil skirt (shown above) or with distressed jeans, a denim skirt, twill shorts or ankle pants.  As the weather turns cooler, it can be worn under a leather jacket and black jeans (shown above).   Also, you can add a cardigan and a suede skirt with a pair of boots.

The Summer Outfit: This outfit is simple, yet makes a statement!  The deep rose color of the sleeveless ruffle top goes well with the solid black pencil skirt.  If you don’t have a black pencil skirt in your wardrobe, you need one!  This is a great piece to wear on a date, to a luncheon or to work.  It’s a timeless and classic piece that will always be in style.  Tassel earrings are on-trend and these beaded tassel earrings go well with the top.  This black pair would also look fabulous!  These leopard print sandal heels are perfect for summer.  Since leopard is considered a neutral, it goes well with this outfit.  Add this quilted black bag for a dressy look.

The Fall Outfit: This outfit is edgy, yet feminine!  The sleeveless ruffle top adds a bit of color, along with the leopard scarf, which makes this outfit pop!  Even though the leather jacket and jeans are both black, the texture of the leather and the soft texture of the jeans go well together.  Add black ankle boots for a neutral finish to the outfit.

  1. Me to Pam! Fall is my favorite time of year for dressing in layers and fall colors.

  2. Can’t wait for fall! I live in Texas and am ready for sweater weather. I also purchased a sweater and closed shoes in the Nordstrom Sale and can’t wait to wear them.
I noticed the black jeans you posted. In the past, when I have tried H&M jeans, I felt like they were not made for “real” women (aka women with hips). I would love to hear your experience with sizes, fits, and styles. Actually, it would be great to hear your experience across brands. I am trying to find super comfy, stretchy jeans to wear while working from home to elevate my style a bit. But I sit all day long so comfort is #1.
    Thanks for your posts!

  3. I have a black leather jacket that I got about 6 months ago and I love it. Literally every girl under 25 in Spain (where I live) has one. I love the mixture of blush and black you have here too!
