Camo and Olive For Spring

I’m thoroughly enjoying wearing my Spring capsule wardrobe! I have a good mix of casual tops, tees, jeans and a few layers, like cardigans and jackets. I wore this outfit yesterday and am sharing with you all what I wore!

scoop neck camo tee / olive utility jacket
button-fly step hem jeans / sunglasses (similar)
gold filigree necklace / cuff bracelet (similar)
margaux medium satchel in “pink vellum” / woven cognac mules (under $25!)

As mostly all of you know who visits Classy Yet Trendy, I publish several capsule wardrobe eBooks each season. When I’m planning the wardrobe collections for each eBook, I like to include a few trendy statement pieces. When I was researching pieces to include in The Stay At Home Mom Capsule Wardrobe: Spring 2019 Collection, I found the cutest Gray Camo Tie Waist Tee and included it in the collection. I also found this Camo Scoop Neck Tee that comes in Olive and Beige colors. I bought the Olive version and have enjoyed wearing it! It is so soft and I love the cutout neckline and the ruched sleeves. The top has a subtle camo pattern that looks good with different colored jeans and pants.

I’ve had this olive utility jacket (this year’s similar style) for a couple of years now and it’s one of my favorite jackets. The olive color is almost like a neutral, so it coordinates well with just about any color in your outfits.

I’m also wearing these 10″ High Rise Button-Fly Step Hem Jeans. I’m so glad I purchased these jeans a few weeks ago as the denim material is soft and is stretchy, yet holds their shape all day! Some high rise jeans seem too high on my waist, but these are just right and they set just right on my hips.

I just got this Margaux Medium Satchel in “Pale Vellum” last week and I love it! I love the light pink color and it’s the perfect size. You can wear it as a crossbody, shoulder bag or carry it as a small tote. It has and interior middle zip compartment with side open compartments and includes a luggage-tag accent with a heart emblem on the outside of the bag. This bag comes in 7 colors!

  2. So glad I came across your website, Leanne. I just love all your posts and have learned so much from you. After purchasing your French Minimalist Capsule I completely transformed my walk-in closet – it now is neat and organized. Actually, it is beautiful! My husband experienced closet envy when he saw it and wanted me to work on his, too (I had ordered the Men’s Wardrobe Capsule as well). It feels so good knowing what to wear everyday and having a closet that says WELCOME instead of BEWARE, lol. I’ve added three accent colors to my base/neutral colors and I know no matter what I grab will fit and combine well with everything else. So, THANK YOU, Leanne, and God Bless!

  3. Marion, I’m so glad to hear you are enjoying your capsule wardrobe and your closet!

  4. I love your blog and your ebooks! You have helped me transform my closet, save money(I don’t buy everything I see), and made getting ready in the morning so much easier. I also appreciate you having links to all the items. This is truly brilliant, I am so thankful.

  5. That is nice, casual yet somewhat elegant in a modern way, outfit. Looking forward to seeing more of your personal spring capsule.

  6. They fit true to size. I have an hourglass figure so sometimes it’s hard to find jeans that stay on my hips. These jeans fit my hips perfectly!

  7. Hello Leanne! I have the same problem with jeans, and have discovered that the “Ab-solution” line of Wit & Wisdom jeans is particularly well-suited to our shape. They have a completely invisible stretch panel from pockets to waist that holds everything in place–no waist gap, no need to constantly pulling them up, no unsightly crotch bunching, no muffin top! They are incredibly comfortable and come in skinny leg and “itty-bitty” bootcut styles. Democracy Jeans have the same stretch panel “technology” also called Ab-solution; I’m convinced they are the exact same product with a more affordable label. Nordstrom and Nordstrom Rack carry them. They come in a variety of indigo washes and many colors, such as olive, dusty rose, burgundy, gray, black and white. Have you tried them? Did you like them?

  8. I have not personally tried the Democracy Jeans, but I know a few fellow bloggers who love to wear them!

  9. Hi Leanne – I love your capsule wardrobes and have bought so many of your e-books. Outfit in this post is so cute. I have tried a couple of those style mules and just don’t find that pointy toe style comfortable. Do you have any other suggestions for spring as a substitute? Thanks!

  10. Thank you Patti! If you are looking for non-pointy toe mules, I recommend using to search several retailers at one time to find the style you are looking for. You can search on a specific color in the search box, like “brown mules” or “white mules”.
