Loft and Target Try-On Session + New Red Dress Boutique Bags
See my reviews of a few tops I tried on from Loft and Target and also see the two new bags I bought from Red Dress Boutique!
Since the weather is warmer here in the South and it’s now April, I’m already thinking about my Summer capsule wardrobe! Since I created my Spring Neutral Capsule Wardrobe, which includes all neutral colors, I have really enjoyed wearing neutrals. The simplicity of wearing all neutrals is so calming and everything seems to coordinate well together.
I was browsing Loft’s site the other day and noticed they had several feminine tops to choose from, so I ordered a few to try on. I ordered mainly neutral colors, but saw this coral peplum tee and had to try it too! I also ordered this white eyelet split neck top and this black crochet sleeve top that I just absolutely love! Probably my favorite is this gray cap sleeve peplum tee!
For size reference, I am 5’9″ and typically wear a Medium or Large in tops and a size 10 in jeans and pants. I wear a size 9 in shoes. For Loft clothes, I typically wear a size Medium in their tops and for Target I wear a Medium in their tops too.
Loft Try-On
Let’s start with the first piece I tried on, the White Floral Puff Sleeve Top (size Medium). I really like the floral design in the material. It provides just enough texture but is still soft. The puff sleeve detail on the sleeves is so feminine. It’s a shorter length top, but not cropped, so you can wear it front tucked or left untucked. Not sure if I’m going to keep this top as I already want to keep the white eyelet one and order another size in the ivory sweater (both shown below). I’m wearing this top with my black wide leg pants from last year (still available in limited sizes) and my black ballet flats (I also have a tan pair and love wearing both of them). I added my Kendra Scott jewelry from their Spring 2020 collection, which is just gorgeous! To help with what’s going on around us, Kendra Scott is donating to the Feeding America network of food banks across America.
Verdict: Not sure if I’m keeping it or returning it.

Next up, is this Black Crochet Flutter Sleeve Top (size Medium). I ordered this one to maybe replace my black eyelet sleeve top from Gap that I wore continuously last Summer! By the end of the last Summer, my Gap top had faded just a bit. I found this top to replace it! The material is so soft and I just love the crochet detail on the sleeves. It has two layers of crochet material on the sleeves and really elevates this top!
Verdict: Kept

Oh my gosh ya’ll, I love this cute Gray Peplum Cap Sleeve Tee (size Medium)! What would be a usual tee, this top is elevated by this pretty peplum hem. It’s a lightweight material that is a heathered gray color and has a cap sleeve style. It also comes in a teal tone color, but I love the gray color, which isn’t too light nor too dark.
Verdict: Kept

I ordered another top, this one being the Mixed Media Peplum Top in the “red tint” color (size Medium). It’s more of a coral color, which is perfect for Spring and Summer! Two colors I absolutely love are blush and coral, so I’m keeping this one. I was planning on having an all-neutral Summer capsule wardrobe, but I’m going to have to include this top, definately a keeper! The material is lightweight and feels kind of like a linen texture. The peplum hem is a bit lower than the gray one, but is about the same length.
Verdict: Kept

I ordered this Ruffle Sweater Shell Top in a Medium and I think I need a size Large, because it’s TOO TIGHT! I absolutely love the style of this sweater, with the ruffle sleeve trim and the split neck with ties. It’s an ivory color and the sweater material is so soft. Even though it is a sweater material, it is lightweight and the openness of this top would be great for Summer. The material is slightly see through, but if you wear a nude bra you can’t tell it. I’m going to order a size up to a Large and and see if a larger size works. This top could be worn with jeans, like I’m wearing, or you can wear it with shorts, pants or a skirt, very versatile. This top is too pretty to pass up!
Verdict: Sending this one back & ordering a size up

I just love this Eyelet Split Neck Top! I’m wearing the white color and it comes in 4 other colors, which are all so pretty! The material is a bit thicker than your usual tee, so you cannot see through it, which is a plus. The eyelet detailing on the sleeves draws your eyes to it and there is also some eyelet detail on the split neckline. Looks like I’m keeping this top too!
Verdict: Kept

Target Try-On
I found this Eyelet Round Neck Top in “white” and ordered a Medium to try on. This is such a cute top and fits well, but it is slightly see through. It is a well made top for the $24.99 price point! I have seen the Lilac and Yellow colors on other bloggers and the material doesn’t look see through at all on those colors. The Lilac color looks like a muted pink, so that color may be a better pick!
Verdict: Returned (like the Lilac color better!)

I also ordered these 2 sets of bracelets, which are so pretty! The first set is this Semi-Precious White Howlite & Sunstone Stretch Bracelet Set. It includes 3 bracelets, one being white howlite and gold tone beads, one is sunstone and gold tone beads and the 3rd one is just gold tone beads.
The other set I bought is the Gold & White Beaded Bracelet Set. It includes a bracelet that has gold tone shell beads on it and it looks like something to wear to the beach! Each bracelet set is just $12.99

Red Dress Boutique Bags
I bought 2 bags and they are absolutely lovely! The best part is that they are less than $50 each!
The first one is the “Polished And Poised” Convertible Shoulder Bag! I bought it in the white color and it comes in several other colors too. The Black color is also gorgeous! The style of this bag reminds me of a Chanel bag with the straight flap and the chevron stitching. I was surprised at the quality put in to making this bag and am glad that it is made of vegan leather.
The other bag I ordered is this “Keep It Low Key” Straw Woven Bag. This is a different style of bag, being that it is square shaped and has a double wooden handle and shoulder strap, which is made of vegan leather. The bag is lightweight, is lined inside and is so pretty!
I’m just catching up on posts and I have to mention the picture of you in the ivory Loft top that you are reordering- your hair is so pretty! I had to do a double scroll back-lol! I’m not sure if it’s because of the color ivory or the way the light is coming in but it’s perfect. Thank you for continuing your work. I look forward to your emails and opinions on items.
Aww, thank you Lori! And, thank you for reading the blog!
