Instagram Lately (Trendy Wednesday #136)

This weekend was totally busy for me and I wasn’t able to take any outfit photos for today’s Trendy Wednesday blog post.  We are having hardwood floors installed throughout most of the house.  Movers came Friday and moved all our furniture upstairs and in the living/dining room downstairs and into the garage.  We have set up a sleeping area, my desk, chairs and tv in the den downstairs next to my daughter’s room.  Saturday morning I went to our local humane society volunteer orientation, then when I got back home, I started painting.  I finished up all the painting Sunday afternoon.  I painted all 3 rooms upstairs, which are our bedroom, my closet room and my office.  Needless to say, I’m pretty sore from all the painting.  I painted all three rooms “Pure White” from Sherwin Williams.  Monday morning, the installers started ripping up all the old wood floors and carpet.  As I’m typing this post, I’m hearing lots of banging and hammering, so it’s almost certain we’ll have headaches by this afternoon.  I can’t wait when they have finished installing the wood floors and our household will be back to normal again.

Since my jewelry and most of my shoes are stored in the garage amongst our furniture I had to postpone outfit photos for today.  Instead, I’m sharing a few outfit photos that I’ve posted on Instagram.  I changed out my capsule wardrobe last weekend for the Fall.  The weather turned cooler when the hurricanes came through down below us and it felt more like Fall.  The last few days the temps have been in the upper 80’s, so I’m wearing just short sleeve tops and jeans.

For my Fall capsule wardrobe, I’m using most of the clothes and shoes from my eBook, The Essential Capsule Wardrobe: Fall 2017 Collection.  To find out what is in my Fall capsule wardrobe, see My Fall 2017 Capsule Wardrobe.  See all the capsule wardrobe eBooks available in the Capsule Wardrobe eBook Store.

Here’s a few outfits from my Fall capsule wardrobe, posted to my Instagram account @classyyettrendy.

Outfit Details:

blush scoopneck tee (plus-size option)
raw hem skinny jeans (plus-size option) // Shop these Raw Hem Jeans
Kendra Scott necklace
straw bag c/o Shopbop

This blush scoopneck tee and raw hem skinny jeans were both in my Summer capsule wardrobe.  I included them in my Fall capsule wardrobe as well, since they go with many items I have in it.  Here in this outfit flatlay, I wore them with a simple necklace, straw bag and Tory Burch sandals (not shown).

Outfit Details:

striped peplum tee (plus-size option)
beaded bar necklace
raw hem medium wash jeans (plus-size option)
black slide-in mules

This striped peplum tee and raw hem medium wash jeans are both new to my capsule wardrobe this Fall.  I’ll be able to wear this striped peplum tee by itself now, but when it turns cooler I can wear it under cardigans and jackets.  These Mother raw hem jeans fit great and hold their shape all day.  Instead of a zipper they have a button fly, which reminds me of Levi’s jeans.

Outfit Details:

Hard Rock Cafe graphic tee (graphic tee option, similar, similar) (plus-size option)
raw hem skinny jeans (plus-size option)
initial necklace
beaded stretch bracelet set
Louis Vuitton Neverfull MM Tote (similar mid-priced tote, budget-friendly tote option)
Tory Burch sandals c/o Shopbop

When my Hubby, daughter and I were coming back home from our trip to Kentucky a few weeks back, we stayed overnight in Nashville.  We ate at the Hard Rock Cafe downtown, then went to a few shops.  We had been there a few times before so we know the area fairly well.  I bought this graphic tee from the Hard Rock Cafe shop while we were there and it fits so well!  I decided to include it in my Fall capsule wardrobe to wear by itself or under jackets and cardigans.  Last week, I splurged on this Louis Vuitton Neverfull MM Tote.  I had been wanting one forever, so I decided to go ahead and get one.  It’s a functional bag, a great investment piece as the style has stayed the same for a few years, plus the color scheme goes with nearly everything in my wardrobe.

Outfit Details:

chambray shirt (plus-size option)
cuff bracelet
Michael Kors handbag
olive skinny jeans (plus-size option)
leopard mules c/o Shopbop // Shop all these Leopard Shoes

I wore this chambray shirt and olive jeans in last week’s Trendy Wednesday blog post.  After I took outfit photos, I changed handbags and shoes and my family went out for the day.  There was a slight breeze in the air but was still warm, so I rolled up the sleeves and wore these leopard mules to stay cool.  My chambray shirt is from last year, but these olive jeans are new, since I had to replace my others due to getting splotches on them after a few washes.  I love wearing this chambray shirt.  It is so soft, fits just right and I love the color.  This season’s version of the chambray shirt has two pockets and the color looks a little lighter.

Outfit Details:

gray twist front fleece top (plus-size option)
burgundy jeans (similar) (plus-size option)
black flats (budget-friendly option)

This gray twist front fleece top feels like I’m wearing pajamas!  I like the 3/4 sleeve length and is just long enough that I can wear leggings with it.  In the flatlay photo above I wore it with burgundy jeans and this pair of Tory Burch black flats.  The twist front top is new to my Fall capsule wardrobe, but I’ve had the burgundy jeans and black flats for a few seasons.

Outfit Details:

olive peplum top (plus-size option)
gold bar necklace
gold hoop earrings
tassel crossbody bag
raw hem skinny jeans (plus-size option)
leopard mules c/o Shopbop

Saturday after painting, my Hubby and I had a date night!  We went out to eat and watched a movie, a treat for us both!  I wore this olive peplum top and raw hem skinny jeans.

I can’t wait to get our house back in order!  The flooring company said it will take about a week to a week and a half for the install and then we’ll have to get our furniture moved back upstairs.  But, there will be no more carpet and no more yellow looking wood.  Wish us luck!
