4 Ways To Wear a Holiday Capsule Wardrobe Outfit
It’s officially the Christmas holiday season! Time to gather with family and friends and attend holiday parties and Christmas festivities! Do you know what you will wear?
When dressing up for a holiday party, you will want to wear a bit more sparkle and may want to add a bit more color to your outfit. Red and green are the more popular colors to wear to holiday parties, but other jewel tones in blues and purples and look beautiful too.
If you use a capsule wardrobe, chances are you already have part of your outfit in your closet!
To create a festive outfit to wear to holiday parties, follow these steps:
- Take a solid color piece out of your capsule wardrobe to serve as the base piece of the outfit. A few base piece examples you may have in your capsule wardrobe that you can wear in your holiday outfit are an ivory sweater, camel sweater, white or ivory shirt or blouse, black tee or sweater, black or gray blazer, black skirt and black pants. - Add a festive color/pattern top or bottom that coordinates with the base piece. A popular pattern for the holidays is plaid, but you can also add a solid color jewel tone top or bottom to the base piece.
- Add shoes to your outfit. Solid, neutral dressy shoes always look great, like black pumps or black ankle boots if you are wearing black in your outfit. If your outfit is a darker tone, add a pair of these red plaid slingback pumps or tartain jeweled flats!
- Complete your outfit with a clutch, structured bag and jewelry. If you have any of these on hand, use them in your outfit so you can save the money instead of buying additional ones.
