Top 10 Reader Favorites of 2020: Best Sellers & Blog Posts
At the end of every year, I like to review the past year to see the most popular content and best selling items here on Classy Yet Trendy. By doing a review, I can determine what products you all like the best and buy the most of, plus which blog posts are the most popular. I can then know what content to make for Classy Yet Trendy (CYT)!
Not to get too technical, but I gather my top selling items information from the affiliate companies I use, which are Shopstyle Collective and rewardStyle. I only know what products sell and how many are sold, but that gives me enough insight to know what products are popular sellers. For knowing which blog posts are the most popular, I gather the info from my Google Analytics account, which is linked to this blog (a standard if you have a blog).
Top 10 Selling Items of CYT Readers
#1 – Marc Fisher Yale Chelsea Boots – These are the #1 selling item of 2020 by Classy Yet Trendy (CYT) readers! I have had these exact boots in the “black leather” color for a couple of years and LOVE them! The chelsea boot is a classic and timeless style. I have these boots in my own 29-Piece Winter 2020 Capsule Wardrobe.
#2 – Wit & Wisdom Black Skinny Ankle Jeans – You all LOVE these jeans as they are in the #2 spot of top selling items of 2020! I have these exact jeans too and also love them! Wit & Wisdom jeans are my favorite brand, since they fit perfectly, hold their shape all day and are made well.
#3 – Leith Long Cardigan (pink adobe color here / camel color here) – These Leith cardigans are best sellers on Nordstrom and many CYT readers love them too! I have the pink adobe color in my closet and love the length and soft pink-blush color.
#4 – Spanx Faux Leather Black Leggings – These are still a best selling item. Last year, these leggings were all the rage by bloggers and this past Fall and this Winter they are still going strong! You can wear faux leather leggings with cozy and loose sweaters, tunic sweaters and also with athleisure pieces.
#5 – Barefoot Dream CozyChic Cardigan – The colors and sizes on this cardigan are limited, but here are more styles of Barefoot Dreams cardigans to choose from. I have the Circle Cardigan in my own 29-Piece Winter 2020 Capsule Wardrobe and wear the Weekend Cardigan with my loungewear around the house!
#6 – Chelsea28 V-Neck Sweater (see all the color choices here)- Ok, this has got to be my favorite sweater! It’s lightweight, loose and flowy, the material is soft and I love the v-neck style. Plus, it washes well (I wash on cold water, then lay flat to dry and it’s ready to wear, no ironing!). I had the “beige oatmeal light heather” color in my Fall 2020 capsule wardrobe and have it in my 29-Piece Winter 2020 Capsule Wardrobe.
#7 – Faux Leather Leopard Tote – The leopard pattern is sold out, but the black color is available. Here are a few other leopard totes on Nordstrom.
#8 – J. Crew Turtleneck Sweater in SuperSoft Yarn – The “heather mushroom” was a top seller (great reviews too) and there are several other colors to choose from!
#9 – Fleece Quarter-Zip Pullover (same color, similar style here) – The “true teal heather” is featured in The Athleisure Capsule Wardrobe: Winter 2020 Collection eBook (a complete wardrobe plan with 100 outfit ideas, checklist and an outfits calendar).
#10 – J. Crew Sweater Blazer – The “heather khaki” color is the top seller, but other colors are available! I have the “heather khaki” color and LOVE it! It feels like a cardigan, but looks like a blazer. You can dress up a jeans outfit, wear it to the office with pants or a skirt or over a dress!

These blog posts are the ones most read and most popular of 2020. Some of these posts are from 2020 and others are prior to 2020.
#1 – How to Start A Capsule Wardrobe: A 5-Step Visual Guide – This post has been the most popular post for a few years now. I created it in 2017 and thousands of readers reference it each year as a capsule wardrobe resource.
#2 – 7 Shoes Every Woman Needs In Her Closet – This post is a popular one with readers and has been pinned on Pinterest many times. A roundup of seven shoes that are classic and timeless. Do you have these shoes in your closet?
#3 – 10 Ways To Wear A Denim Jacket – A denim jacket is a classic piece to have in your wardrobe. This post shows you how to wear it 10 ways, casual to dressy.
#4 – 29-Piece Spring 2020 Neutral Capsule Wardrobe – This was my first all-neutral color capsule wardrobe for my own closet and I loved it so much that I had a Fall 2020 neutral capsule wardrobe and a 29-Piece Winter 2020 Capsule Wardrobe for my closet.
#5 – 10 Ways to Wear Black Jeans – The “10 Ways To Wear” posts are popular as it shows 10 outfits with a common piece in each of them.
#6 – 29-Piece Fall 2020 Neutral Capsule Wardrobe – This has to be my most favorite capsule wardrobe ever for my own closet! The choices of tops, bottom, layers and shoes coordinated very well. I absolutely loved the textures and neutral colors of the shoes. All the shopping sources are linked in the post if you want to create this capsule wardrobe for your closet.
